Dear Families, Let me start by saying Happy New Year to each and every one of you. I cannot believe how quickly my first year as Principal of Saint Francis is going. I am so excited to be back from our Christmas break. This week I have two important announcements to share with all of you. Jan. 8: 1:00pm – 2:00pm CYO 5th/6th Girls Game – Rice Memorial High School 2:00pm – 3:00pm CYO 6th Boys Game – Essex Middle School 2:00pm – 3:00pm CYO 5th Boys Game – Winooski High School
Reenrollment has begun Hopefully you received an email this afternoon containing two letters. One letter outlines the tuition rates for next school year and the other discusses the process for reenrollment. As you know, last year we moved the reenrollment process completely online, allowing you to make changes and updates to the information you entered previously. Our discounted registration fee of $125 will apply until February 3rd. After this date the fee will go up to $200. The letters we sent provide you with step by step instructions on the reenrollment process, but should you run into any issues, don’t hesitate to contact me. Please know I am here to help. We are all excited about getting an early start on this process.

Starting on Monday, January 16th, the price of lunch will be increasing by 25 cents. This will make the price of hot lunch $3.50. This increase is to help us offset the rising cost of supplies for the program. As our school grows, so do the number of people who take advantage of the program, meaning more supplies are used. We do everything in our power to keep the cost of lunch down. We strive to make hot lunch a breakeven program, but over the last few years that has become more of a challenge. We hope this small increase will help us with that goal. At the same time, please check your students hot lunch account. The web address is https://www.myschoolaccount.com. Keeping your student's lunch account up to date is a huge part of the long term success of the program. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions about your student's lunch account. I hope 2017 brings new adventures and great joys. We are so honored to be part of your family's journey. God Bless, Eric Becker

SPORTS NEWS: 8th Grade Boys On 12/18, the 8th grade boys took on the Mater Christi Bulldogs B team in a lopsided affair on Sunday. The Bulldogs lacked bite with the SFX Golden Angels taking a commanding 150 lead to start the game and didn’t relent, building to a 285 lead at half. In addition to outscoring their canine opponent, the boys outsized and outrebounded as well. The pace of play slowed in the second half, but the Angels ended with a convincing 4715 win. SFX player Zac Roy lead the onslaught with 11 points, Chris Prim added 5, and JJ Stockbridge chipped in 2. The boys improved their season record to 31. 7th/8th Grade Girls On 12/11, the 7/8 girls played tough against a very good Mater Christi team. The team started off sluggish, but continued to execute our offense and worked well as a team. The girls out scored Mater Christi in the second half, but unfortunately could not overcome the early first quarter deficit. Cassidy pumped in 10 points, Anna and Maelyn each had four points. Ashleigh, Melanie, and Sierra each contributed with two points. Larissa did a great job running the point and created many scoring opportunities for her teammates, and Allison was strong on defense, creating steals and grabbing ebounds. On 12/18, the 7/8 girls played hard against a strong St. Pius team on Sunday. The team had a balanced scoring attack, with six of the nine girls contributing points. Anna led the team with six points, Cassidy dropped in four, Caroline, Larissa, and Ashleigh each chipped in with two, and Mel converted one of two free throws to round out the scoring. The girls practice preparation was evident during the game as they created many scoring opportunities and played tenacious defense throughout the game, but unfortunately they could not come away with the win. The upcoming games are listed in the above calendar of events. Come cheer the teams on!
