Starting in the 2015-16 school year, Addenbrooke Classical Academy will be located at 3940 S. Teller St., Lakewood, CO 80235. Thank you for everyone’s patience, as it has taken much longer than originally anticipated to secure a facility. Our new campus brings us a step closer to the realization of ACA’s mission and vision to create free and independent thinkers. Twisted Penny Drive: The Twisted Penny Drive ended on March 19th and was a huge success! Not only did the drive raise $1,139.54 to pay for our new outdoor play equipment but it also became a lesson in character and empathy. Early in the second week of the penny drive, the students in the upper grades observed that the Kindergarten class had not yet won a daily prize. They pooled their money to ensure the Kindergarteners would win the prize for the day. I am certain that what the students learned about empathy will stick with them for a long time. While I am thrilled we raised the funds for the play equipment, the character lesson was what made this event meaningful. We have amazing students here!
Field Day Calendar Change: Field Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. This will be an early-release day with school officially ending at 12:00 pm. All events will be held at Addenbrooke Park (near the current secondary campus) starting at 8:30 am and ending at 12:00 noon. Students will be released to parents at that time. We welcome all families to join us for a picnic lunch at the park starting at 12:00 pm. Food will not be provided so everyone should bring their own picnic lunch. We look forward to a fun-filled day!
Parent Survey: Please remember to complete the parent survey by April 10th if you haven’t done so already. This survey will help us develop our strategic plan.
