JV girls golf team continues season today By Abby Freese Warrior girls JV golf team members have found a great deal of success of far this season. At Elmwood Golf Course on April 26, the team came close to a win as they placed second to O’Gorman with 206 team points in a Metro Conference Meet. Individually, junior Amber Obenauer tied

for second with 43 strokes. On May 10 at Kuehn Park, WHS tied for first place with O’Gorman with a total of 177 strokes. The JV girls have placed second or third out of five teams in every match so far this season. JV coach Craig Nelson said the girls have been working hard this season.

“We have put a lot of our attention on our putting and chipping because that is an area of the game where we can cut down a lot of strokes,” Nelson said. The team will play another round at 3 p.m. today at Hidden Valley Golf Course, then end their season May 26 at Elmwood. The varsity also plays at Brookings today.

10 school days until summer vacation! And with summer vacation comes freedom, chilling with friends all day, having fun in the sun and of course, summer bucket lists. Everyone—even guys—should have their own bucket list, whether it simply mills about in their head, or it’s plastered across their bedroom wall. And if you haven’t had the chance to create one yet, you still have time! Here are some tips to creating your perfect 2016 Summer Bucket List! It is always good to start off Hear me. . . small with ideas like trying new foods or attending your favorite Maham Shah team’s game. Anyone can have the generic ideas of bonfires or water balloon fights, but don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone these next couple of months. Don’t get too crazy like, “climb Mt. Everest” or “go deep sea diving,” but be open to outof-the-blue ideas like road tripping with friends to different states, or going to your favorite artist’s concert. After you have created your personalized list, put it somewhere where you will always see it and be reminded of your goals for the summer. Last but not least, is to make the most out of your summer whether or not you accomplish your list. Summer is the time to be free of pesky homework assignments and long school days. With this list, hopefully all you will kick this summer is a sand bucket full of boredom. See you out there! Junior Maham Shah is crossing off No. 1 and traveling to Spain this summer!

Google announces new services By Ethan Baron The Mercury News (TNS) MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Google announced four major new products, from a messaging app called Allo to a personal helper called Google Assistant, at its 10th annual developers conference Wednesday.

Technology Watch

Each new offering will compete against established and developing products from Google competitors Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook. “We are at a pivotal moment in terms of where we are going as a company,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai told more than 7,000 people at Google I/O. “It is truly the moment of mobile. There are over 3 billion people connected and they are using the Internet in ways we have never seen. They live on their phone.” Three out of four of Google’s new products are focused on mobile devices, while the fourth, a homebased virtual assistant, is a piece of hardware powered by artificial intelligence. Google’s new messaging app Allo will use language recognition and artificial intelligence to compete with Facebook’s Messenger and Apple’s iMessage. Google also announced “the Google assistant,” intended to compete with Apple’s Siri, Facebook’s M, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana.
