It was no easy time for the Warriors, as they took all three games at the tournament to five sets. After defeating No. 2 ranked Mitchell 25-15, 22-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-10 on Thursday, the Warriors fell to No. 3 seeded Rapid City Stevens 24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 19-25, 14-16 in the semifinals Friday. They then came back to defeat No. 5 seeded Watertown 25-18, 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-6 in the third-place match on Saturday. pain and finish 2-1 on the weekend. Everybody had their shining moments throughout the tournament and we never went down without a fight. It was a great group of girls and I’m glad we could finish the way we did.” The Warrior team will hold their end-of-season banquet tonight in the WHS commons.

Boys, girls bowlers beat Lincoln

By Joseph Lax The varsity girls bowling team out-scored Lincoln 28.521.5 and the boys won 31-19 Friday at Suburban Bowl. Freshman Eli Reisner had the high game of 213 and high series of 565 for the boys.

Sophomore Miller SoutarBishop said he was pleased. “We kept the intensity up and our heads in the game and did what we had to do,” SoutarBishop said. Girls coach Derek Schumacher said they persevered.

“The girls struggled tonight with difficult lane conditions,” Schumacher said. “It was very oily and hard to navigate the bowling ball into the pocket.” The Warriors will next take on O’Gorman Dec. 1 at Empire Bowl.

Junior student of the month •What are your plans/dreams for the future? I plan to go to medical school and become a doctor. •What is your favorite class this semester? My favorite class is precalculus because the class is laid back, and I’m pretty good at it. •What is your advice to readers of the NOW? Stay up to date on your school work and don’t fall behind. •How do you want to be remembered at WHS? I want to be remembered as the guy who could really bust a move!

Keep an open mind, try new things The upcoming Thanksgiving break is a perfect time to try new things and do what you’ve always wanted to do. I’ve recently been trying new things and they’ve all turned out to be positive experiences! At the beginHear me. . . ning of November, I randomly decided to change up my Libby Nachtigal hair and get highlights. I just decided I needed something new in my life! The past two weekends I have toured colleges. I first toured the University of Minnesota, and I can’t say I loved it, but I’m keeping an open mind. It was a very cold day

when I toured, so it was hard for me to focus on what the tour guide was saying. Lesson—wear layers, lots and lots of layers! I toured the University of South Dakota this past weekend, and I ended up really enjoying it. My family has always been an SDSU family, so I kind of went in with the thought that I wasn’t going to like it. Turns out I did! I should’ve gone in with a positive mindset, and you should too, Warriors! Try to be as positive as you can— sometimes your mood can ruin what you’re doing, and you might miss an opportunity. I challenge all of you Warriors to do something that scares you, and to try new things! You never know what you’ll get out of it, but odds are if you have the right attitude and you enjoy what you’re doing, it’ll be an experience to remember! Junior Libby Nachtigal went deer hunting for the first time recently.

Weinstein Co. could be saved by bid By Ryan Faughnder Los Angeles Times (TNS) A former Obama administration official has submitted a bid to buy the Weinstein Co. and install a majority-female board of directors, in a surprising twist for the beleaguered film and television studio that has been trying to avoid bankruptcy. Maria ContrerasSweet, who ran the U.S. Small Business Administration from 2014 to 2017, sent a letter to the Weinstein Co. board of directors this month offering to buy the company and assume liabilities related to its business operations. Contreras-Sweet would become chairwoman of the Weinstein Co. board, according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Los Angeles Times. Her letter, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, did not include financial details. “I believe we have now reached a crossroads where it is imperative that a woman-led board acquire control of the company and create content that continues to inspire audiences around the world, especially our young girls and boys,” Contreras-Sweet said in the Nov. 8 letter. Weinstein Co. representatives did not respond to requests for comment. Such a deal would be a remarkable development for the onetime indie film powerhouse, which has spent more than a month reeling from sexual harassment and assault allegations against its cofounder Harvey Weinstein. It remains to be seen how the all-male current board of directors will respond to the offer. Last week, Weinstein Co. got a much-needed financial lifeline when it sold its North American distribution rights for “Paddington 2” to Warner Bros. in a deal worth about $30 million, which it split with Frenchowned StudioCanal. People close to the studio said the money will help keep Weinstein Co. out of bankruptcy.
