FROM THE DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT Dear Parents and Community Members, The new annual report card issued by the Oregon Department of Education offers a picture of how our school is performing. Pine Eagle Charter School earned an overall State Rating of Level 3. School’s academic achievement was between the 47th and 69th percentile as compared to other Oregon schools. All Oregon schools are assigned a State Rating on a scale of 1 to 5 (1= >26.5% and 5= 87%<) based upon student academic achievement, growth and graduation rates. Pine Eagle earned a 3 in Achievement, and 4 in Growth. The school did not receive a Graduation Rate because our class sizes are too small. Over the past 3 years we have been working to improve student writing achievement. In 2011 the writing achievement was at 64%, in 2012 it was 76% and for 2013 it was 81%. For 201314 Pine Eagle will offer intervention classes in Reading and Math. Parents/Guardians can help by monitoring academic performance and attendance, encouraging participation in afterschool activities
or athletics, or even volunteering. We look forward to partnering with you this year! Thank you, Superintendent | Mike Corley
