Purpose:

To ensure that all staff and Board members are covered, as appropriate, by medical malpractice and professional liability insurance when acting on the behalf of District in conjunction with duties and responsibilities.

Policy:

All staff providing services and all Board of Health members will be covered by medical malpractice and professional liability insurance. The records of insurance coverage are retained by the Finance Officer in the District Business office. Premiums for this coverage are paid by the District. Activities provided outside of assigned responsibilities will not be covered under the District’s medical malpractice and/or professional liability insurance.

Procedure:

Any incident that could result in potential liability should be reported to immediate supervisor and complete an incident report form. The supervisor will then notify the District Business Officer.
