Boys • State was held from June 2 to 9 and G iris • State from June 10 to 17. Larry Hudson and Jean Nadeau were representatives for thErYear of 1956. Governmental lectures; opportunity to run for state, county and city offices; and voting for these officers were all part of the week•s activities. Pins and certificates of attendance were given at the end of the week•s session. Jane Rogers and Darrel Rezac will represent Rossville High School at Girls• and Boys • State for 1957

COUNCIL ELECTION The Student Council election started the school year with a bang. There were three parties again this year. Arlyn Sage was the Nationalist party candidate; Jane Rogers was the Federalist party candidate; and Sam Zickefoose was the Progressive party candidate. After a close race, the Federalist party came out on top, with Jane Rogers the Student Council president for the year 1956 - 1957.

The 1956 Football Team placed first in the league with a seven win, one tie, and no loss for the season. Our boys showed good sportsmanship, excellent training, and lost of fighting spirit. These factors led to an undefeated season. Ray Kovar, our allstar Senior fullback received honorable mention in the Northeast Kansas AllStar Team.

The Rossville 11 A 11 Team completed a very successful season with 14 wins and 6 losses. Their spark I ing record was further high I ighted by winning the county tournament and placing second in the District. They went into the regionals with high spirits, but the spirits were downed as Perry stopped them in the first game. Rossville shared the League championship with Silver Lake. The Rossville 11 B11 squad closed their season with 13 wins and 4 losses. Of the boys on the team 4 were Freshmen, 3 were Sophomores, 3 Juniors and 2 Seniors. The team showed very much spirit and established the fact that in the next few years, we •11 have very good 11 A 11 team materia I .

Lynda Wilt, gracious, winsome student at Rossville High School, was the Senior selected as 1956 Homecoming Queen, October 26. Her Attendants were Jean Nadeau and Betty Tholl. At the half of the Rossvi lie-St. Marys Football game the crowning of the Queen and her attendants took place. Following the game, a dance was held in the high school gymnasium, at which the Queen and her Attendants reigned.

1977! Time certainly has flown! The reunion of the class of '57 was a wonderful success with everyone talking over old times. Naturally everyone wanted to know what the others were doing or what they had become. The inquiries received these answers. Betty Tholl is the head nurse and supervisor at the well known Marney Hospital in Topeka. Lynda Wilt is an important X-ray technician · for Navy Hospital in Pensicola, Florida. Pauline Timmons is manager of the Hi Iton Hotels which are in New York, Hollywood, and Germany. Karen Pressgrove is a famous detective employed by Scotland Yard. Lucille Reser is the co-owner of the large Porter Ranch. Jean Nadeau conducts public relations in her family of ten. Jan ice McClelland is the head model for famous designer "Dior" of Paris. Kent Smith is the well known hair stylist of New York City. AI an Landen is the owner of the world renowned "Landen Bop School" . Sam Zickefoose is working in Egypt as an archeologist. He has uncovered some very important bones. Arlyn Sage recently bought out General Motors and plans to change the name to Sage, Inc. Loren Lynde is the very important architect who designed Jayne Mansfield's home. Larry Zeller is the private, private secretary of the President of the United States. Larry Hudson has just formed his own electrical company. He calls it Hudson-Hurley, Inc. Ray Kovar, who coaches at Oklahoma, was just voted coach of the year. Joe Stockman owns his own chain of garages. Laiten Marney is the world-famous chemist who has several elements named for him. James Welch now owns the Rossville Reporter. Larry Parr is a cub reporter working on the Kansas City Star.
