During Vocation Awareness week we identify with Jesus as he begins his public ministry. As his followers we can reflect on the Special Feast of the Lord’s Baptism which signified the beginning of his public ministry. As his followers we are invited to accept and renew our commitment to our own ministries. Consider the gifts of the Spirit that have been given to you? How are those gifts being used to serve and to build God’s Kingdom? Might God be calling you to a Church vocation  Consecrated, ordained or lay? As Jesus heard his Father’s voice, let us listen for God’s invitation for us. The Mission of Parish Nursing / Parish Ministries of Health: Parish Nursing and Parish Ministries of Health have their roots in Jesus’ mission to bring about the reign of God. Jesus restored health and wholeness to the body, mind and spirit of those whose lives he touched. Jesus taught his disciples to go and proclaim the good news and to heal the sick (Luke 9:2). By caring for those in our parish communities who are in need, parish nurses and parish ministries of health team members participate with Christ in bringing about the life of God in our own day. Don’t miss this upcoming opportunity to learn more about Parish Nursing and Parish Ministries of Health. Parish Nurses of Alaska and the Northwest Parish Nurse Ministries in collaboration with Providence Health System Alaska are sponsoring a Parish Nurse Health Ministry Preparation Course Jan. 11- March 3, 2007. Second Sunday in Ordinary Time In today's second reading, St. Paul tells the Corinthians (and us) that all of our gifts are from God and that they are given, not for ourselves alone, but for the common good. But the gen-erosity of God knows no limits - the miracle at Cana reminds us that whenever we faith-fully do as God asks, He can change our gifts of water into wine!
