Abstract: The problem of optimal allocation of radar resources is addressed. Open-loop optimal strategies are obtained by direct optimization including a verification by the Maximum Principle using a non-iterative process. The structure of the optimal strategies is investigated by extensive numerical solutions and the main features of the optimal behavior are characterized.
