To My Tuckston Church Family: It is hard to put into words my thanks and appreciation to all of you for all your prayers, notes, cards and support for Boyd and me over these past four years. For all of you who had any part at all with the reception after the Memorial Service for Boyd, I thank you so much. Everything was so beautiful. Our Tuckston church is a very loving and caring family, and we are honored to have been a part of it for 48 years. Thank you for your prayers and support for Boyd all through his long illness. He appreciated and loved this church and all of you. Thank you for showing the love of Christ to us. My family also extends their heartfelt thanks to you. CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES

UMM: The Men’s Club/UMM had a very productive meeting last month and our October meeting, scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 8:15 am, is shaping up to be equally so. John Holland has us another great speaker, Julie Buffalo, RN, BSN, Community Educator for ARMC, who will speak on “FITTNESS FOR LIFE.” We have two service projects scheduled and will need some of you to work after the meeting: #1) Cut and clean up Bernice Smith’s lawn. Jim Wood, leader of this project, will need several people to help and also needs someone with a weed eater. #2) Cut and remove trees at the Parsonage. Neil Hefner is the leader of this project, along with Steve Cooper and his dump truck for support. They will need several more people to help pickup limbs and load wood. Both projects should last about 2 hours and they give us the opportunity to grow closer together as we reach out and help others.

YOUTH FUNDRAISER: A Low Country Boil/Cake Auction Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 14. See Josh Garner, Angela Brewer or Mary Licht for tickets. THE HARBOR: All youth (ages 6th-12th grade) are invited to join us each Sunday evening from 5:00-7:30 pm for FUN, FOOD, FRIENDSHIP & FAITH! We would love to see you there! Candy Donations: Candy donations are needed for this year’s Fall Festival. Please put all candy in designated spots in the Narthex and Fellowship Hall. FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL: Join us on Saturday, October 24, from 4:006:00 pm, for our TUMC Fall Festival! There will be games, inflatables, food, cake walk, petting zoo, and LOTS OF FUN FOR ALL!

TLC Fall Yard Sale: TLC will hold their annual yard sale on Oct. 31 from 8am-12pm. Table rental is $15/table. Please call the church office to reserve a spot. Set up will be Friday, Oct. 30 from 5-7pm. Donations are gladly accepted! BBQ Chicken Fundraiser: AIRS (Athens Inclusive Recreation & Sports) will be holding a Chicken BBQ Plate Sale on Sunday, November 8 from 12-2pm. Tickets are $9 per plate and all proceeds benefit AIRS. Please call (706) 308-3794 to purchase tickets. HELP NEEDED ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS! Help is greatly needed on Wednesday nights for our suppers.
