Annual Report 2016-17

Sudbury YMCA

Message from the Board Chair and CEO

Dear Friends and Supporters, The past year was one of milestones, change, growth and success as the YMCAs in North Bay and Sudbury moved from an Alliance Agreement to officially joining together as the amalgamated YMCA of Northeastern Ontario. While each YMCA will remain unique, acting as one means more for everyone. More choice, more partnerships, more connections, more shared resources, and more efficiencies for a stronger organization that will strive to achieve positive impact throughout the communities we serve. Within change and growth there are hidden opportunities. The past year hasn’t been without challenges, but because of our dedicated team of board members, volunteers and staff we were able to keep the focus on what matters most – improving lives. In the coming year, we will emphasize a focus on operational excellence and leadership and meet the challenges ahead, creating the environment needed to ensure that the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is a place where families gather and play, where teens feel safe and valued, and where people of all ages reach their goals. Thank you for all your support during this time of positive change. We look forward to building and serving an even stronger Northeastern region for generations to come! On behalf of the Board of Directors, Sincerely thank you, Alex McCauley Chair, Board of Directors Sylvie Montpellier Interim President and Chief Executive Officer
