Welcome to Fourth Grade!

We are excited to embark on a new school year together! As we shared with the students in June, please continue to review the following skills for the  rest of the summer.  These items were explained in letter that came home on the last day of  school.  ● Remember to read at least 1 book.  Write a one­page report.   ● Practice your math facts.   ● Practice cursive writing.   ● Remain familiar with keyboarding.  ● Spend the night away from home.  ● Practice ordering from a restaurant.  Use your manners in public! ☺  ● Optional: Bring any summer math work you completed to Mrs. Muncie in August!      One important trip to mark on your calendars is our voyage to ​ Camp Cheerio​ , in Roaring Gap,  North Carolina.  This will take place on September 26­28.  The cost of the trip will be  approximately $200.  We wanted to give you a “heads up” on this cost, so you can budget  accordingly.  Please let us know if you have any concerns regarding this trip. ☺      We look forward to seeing you at ​ Meet the Teacher Day​  on Monday, August 15.  That day,  you will discover your child’s homeroom teacher and receive some important papers from both  the school and fourth grade.  Also, be sure to sign up for MaP, pizza sales, after­school  programs, buy an agenda, t­shirts, etc.        Below, you will find a ​ supply list​ .  Please read carefully!  It is crucial to have your supplies on  the first day of school.  If you’d like, you may also bring them on the Monday of your visit.  The fourth grade team will also be asking for “wish list” items during the beginning of school.  Check the hallway bulletin board if your family would like to contribute additional items.  Thanks! ☺

FOURTH GRADE SUPPLY LIST  2016 – 2017   

  All Students​ :    o Magellan student agenda (available at Meet the Teacher Day)  o 1 set of earbuds (you should have from last year), kept in a small box (i.e. Altoids)  o 1 flash drive (you should have from last year), kept in a small box  o Pencil pouch: zipper kind, not box  o 1 packs of index cards, 3x5 size  o 2 narrow highlighters: different colors  o 6 glue sticks  o #2 pencils with erasers (24 pack) , pre­sharpened please ☺    (​ disposable​  mechanical are acceptable / ​ no​  lead changing)  o 2 narrow black felt tip pens  o 2 boxes of Crayola markers (1 thin & 1 thick)  o 1 box of colored pencils   o 2 rolls of paper towels  o 1 spiral notebook, 1 subject with 100 pages  o 1 bag of individually wrapped candy  o 25 dividers (10 for math, 10 for la/ss, 5 for science)  o 3 ​ heavy duty​  binders:    ­ 2 that are 1.5 inch wide (any colors!)  ­ 1 that is 1 inch wide (any color!)      Boys only​ :  o 1 box of family size tissues   o 1 container of disinfecting wipes                   Girls only​ :  o 1 bag of individually wrapped candies   o 1 bottle of hand soap
