ANNUAL REPORT 2016
MISSION & VISION
OUR MISSION The Organic Soup Kitchen (OSK) works to ensure that every family and individual has access to quality, healthy food, regardless of their race, gender, religion or financial status. We believe that humanity can heal itself of many ills when we begin with a foundation of a strong immune system. We support this by offering clinical nutrition and functional education.
OUR VISION Our vision is to provide a comprehensive platform that offers education and strategies to national organizations serving low-income demographics. Share our operational standards and policies that have been tried and proven over the last 9 years. We are confident that our collaborative efforts will help save resources and increase effectiveness for organizations wanting to make a difference.

Nutritional Therapy for Cancer Patients (NTCP) is a weekly delivery program to cancer patients and people with a degenerative disease. Each client receives a week's worth of nutrientdense soups in hermetically sealed containers. Our soups are formulated to strengthen the immune system and combat Cachexia, a condition that decreases muscle mass and weakens organs. This condition can be reversed nutritionally with a healthy nutrient-dense diet.

A traditional Thanksgiving Dinner: that's what we do. We recreate the memories and wholesomeness of family. There is no buffet line here; our guests sit and we wait on them. In 2016, OSK served 1,029 meals in one day, which included to-go meals, dine-in, and delivery to our most vulnerable seniors and cancer patients. Thanks to the help of the Santa Barbara community, over 250 volunteers donated their time, energy, and monetary efforts in conjunction with 18 community corporate sponsors.

Holidays are a magical time of year and we strive to restore faith and camaraderie with our local community.
For 9 years in a row, Organic Soup Kitchen has been providing the Santa Barbara community: a full Christmas meal, gifts, music, compassion, and love. Last year, we served 947 low-income individuals and families as well as our community members in need who could not afford to provide a Christmas meal. Christmas Eve, OSK hosts a giftwrapping party and invites everyone to bring a gift to share and wrap while enjoying homemade Italian lunch and community collaboration.

This helped directly support our weekly delivery to our cancer clients, who receive 10-15 meals of soup each week.
