During the 2017-2018 school year we are offering driver education classes at 5 different sites with differing schedules. In doing this we hope to accommodate most students. Sign-up begins immediately for any of the school year programs. WHEN THE ENROLLMENT FORM AND PAYMENT OF THE DISTRICT FEE OF $220.00 ARE RECEIVED, YOU ARE CONSIDERED TO BE ENROLLED. You may email, fax, US Mail, or deliver the application and payment to 3555 N. Milwaukee Ave, Boise, ID, 83704. ALL SESSIONS:  30 slots will be available at each school and will be filled on a ‘first come first served’ basis.  You must submit the enrollment form with payment of the District’s Driver Education fee of $220.00. o You may attach a check to the enrollment form. OR o You may attach the Credit/Debit authorization form to pay by credit card or debit card.  Site Coordinators at each school will determine classroom schedules AND driving schedules for their school.  Students must purchase a permit before enrolling in the class.  You can check the Confirmation of Enrollment page on our website to verify your enrollment. 1st Quarter Session: Starting September 5. Completed on or before October 26, 2017 Locations: Boise, Borah, Capital, Timberline 2nd Quarter Session: Starting between October 30 and November 7. Completed on or before December 20, 2017. Locations: Boise, Borah, Capital, Fairmont Some students may be asked to drive during Thanksgiving Break. No classes during Thanksgiving Break. 3rd Quarter Session: Starting between January 30 and February 6. Completed on or before March 22, 2018 Locations: Boise, Capital, Timberline, Fairmont 4th Quarter Session: Locations:

Starting between April 2 and April 10. Completed on or before May 22, 2018

BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR DRIVER EDUCATION, PLEASE CHECK ATHLETIC SCHEDULES, MUSIC SCHEDULES, FAMILY VACATIONS, AND ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT MAY CONFLICT WITH THE DRIVER EDUCATION SCHEDULE. ALL ABSENCES MUST BE MADE UP WITH A FEE OF $30 PER HOUR. BEFORE YOU ENROLL in your selected session, you will have to purchase your permit at the Ada County License Department located at 400 N Benjamin. The student MUST be 14 ½ years old to purchase a permit and participate in our program. PERMITS MUST BE PURCHASED BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR CLASS. ITEMS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT  TO PROVE DATE OF BIRTH, EACH STUDENT MUST PRESENT: A CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT THE TIME THE PERMIT IS PURCHASED. 



VERIFICATION of COMPLIANCE letter. You must pick this up from the secretary at your child’s school. The Ada County License Department will only accept a written verification on a school letterhead with the principal’s signature or designee, and the school seal or stamp affixed. Home schooled students will require an affidavit from the DMV which must be signed by their parents.



SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS will be required for the issuance of a driver education permit.



When going to obtain your permit make sure you have a legal parent with you as both parent and student have to sign for the permit.



Students are required to take and pass a vision test to receive a permit.



Tell the staff at the Ada County License Department to send the permit to Boise School District

Students or parents who wish to cancel after assignments have been made must call Valley View Elementary @ 854-6375 at least five school days before the first day of class to receive a $170.00 refund. The remaining $50.00 will be retained as an administrative fee.

After that, refunds will be made by appeal only.
