The following pages contain the building rules for competition in Rattlesnake Raceway’s Outlaw Karts. Other classes are welcome to participate at Rattlesnake Raceway with approval of LARA's Director of Racing. Rattlesnake Raceway is the oldest continuously operated oval dirt track facility in the State of Nevada. The track is administered by Lahontan Auto Racing Association (LARA), a non-profit organization made up of racers and race enthusiasts, like you, whose principle objective is to provide entertaining, fair and competitive oval dirt track racing.

KARTS DISCLAIMER The rules and/or regulations set forth are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events all participants are deemed to have complied with such rules. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death of a participant, spectator, or official. The race directory shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that, in his/her opinion, do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. Any interpretation or deviation of the above rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final. Drivers and parents/guardians of minor drivers are responsible to read and understand the rules and regulations above. CONDUCT: REFUSAL of ENTRY: We reserve the right to refuse service, entry or re-entry to anyone. INTOXICANTS and CONDUCT, ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY 1. NO alcoholic beverages may be consumed by anyone in the pit area during the event. If consumption of alcoholic beverages becomes an issue, we reserve the right to eliminate alcoholic beverages from being allowed on the premises at any time. 2. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for improper conduct, physical and/or verbal abuse to any individual or group at any time. Any person who strikes or causes bodily harm or uses improper language towards any other driver, pit crew, spectator or Track official will be automatically suspended. The offender may also face assault charges or have legal action brought against them. 3. Suspension and/or fines may be assessed to drivers, pit crews, family members and friends while in pit area. Objectionable conduct, such as arguing with or shouting at officials or any other persons, will not be tolerated and may subject the driver to being black flagged, fined and/or the offender to be removed from the premises. Anyone supplying alcohol to a minor or under aged person will be permanently suspended. PARENTS: You are responsible for your child’s safety and actions.

Make sure 4

you read and understand all disclaimers when you sign and enter the race track grounds. Additionally, your conduct as a parent shall be such as to be beyond reproach. Yelling, hitting, berating of your child or any other individual WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. DRIVERS: Make sure you read and understand the racing rules. Some things have changed and some things are different from other race track procedures. Any display of unsportsmanlike conduct will result in penalty, fines and/or suspension at the discretion of the race director/flagman/promoter. All drivers assume total responsibility for any and all actions by anyone associated with them, their team towards anyone else and shall be cause for penalty, suspension, loss of any awards (points, trophy or money) and possible arrest.

2017 General Rules and Regulations ALL CLASSES

MEMBERSHIP

All cars shall meet all safety and building rules mandated by the track rules and those in their classes specific rules set forth by LARA. (Membership in any stock car association shall be honored.) You must be a member of LARA to receive Rattlesnake Raceway points and qualify for the point’s championship at the end of the year. All drivers' points will be tracked for the first three (3) races. If no dues are paid the point totals for non-members will be erased and no points will be tracked in the future. Membership dues may be paid at any time before entering fourth (4th) race to guarantee point tracking.

PIT AREA

1. ANYONE UNDER 14 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES IN THE PITS!!!! All participants, 17 and younger, must have a notarized minors release form on file with LARA 2. Smoking in KART PIT AREA is NOT ALLOWED. 3. Anyone UNDER THE AGE OF 14 MUST HAVE A HELMET on at any time on a 4 wheeler or in a kart in the pits or on any road around the track. 4. Pit vehicle Car number and class must be placed on three/four-wheeler for visual identification. (i.e.: HS-6, IMCA 21, etc) No ID = No use. Authorized age limit to operate pit vehicles is 10 years of age, and older 5. Speeding in the pit area will result in a DQ for the night or next race and a fine and/or loss of points and possible permanent dismissal from the track.

6. All pit area participants shall be required to obtain a valid wristband in order to access the pit area. Any and all persons not in possession of a valid wristband shall be escorted out of the pits. 7. The Pit Area is designated as the 'restricted area' for the preparation of cars for competition. All drivers must operate their vehicles within the Pit Area in a manner that is safe and under control. The Pit Area is not a test area for racecars/Karts. When entering the pits, drivers must slow to a speed no greater than 5 MPH. 8. Each race team is allowed a tow vehicle and trailer inside the pits. Please be considerate and only use enough space your team requires and park your race car in line with your trailer. Non-tow vehicles may park in the pits at the cost of $5.00 per vehicle. Vehicles will be insured and insurance cards must be presented when inquired for by a track official. Track officials can refuse non-tow vehicle parking in the pits if space is required for more race teams. Refunds will be made to non-tow vehicles if they have to be removed for space

Pit Crews 1. Only one Pit Crew Person per kart allowed in the Pit Lane area, unless directed by a Kart Official. 2. Pit CREWS are NOT allowed on racetrack or infield while race is in progress. Violators will result in their kart being disqualified.

Parent/Guardian

1. In the event, that a parent is not in attendance, the individual in care of the minor/driver must provide letter designating that individual or the person accompanying the minor as guardian. A NEW LETTER FOR EACH RACE.

Crashes

1. DON’T EXIT KART AFTER CRASHES; If a Kart is involved in an accident and can no longer continue - and no extenuating circumstances exist such as fire, hot fluids spillage or etc. - the driver should not loosen any personal safety equipment and exit the kart until directed to do so by the safety personnel or a track official.

SAFETY Equipment

Any Official is permitted to remove karts from race track due to unsafe conditions to driver and/or other karts. Track Officials’ decision is final.

You’re RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND OF YOUR KARTS.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS 1. Each race team must have a fire extinguisher in or on the trailer or rear of the tow vehicle. Must have car # painted on it. 2. Fire extinguishers must be visible and accessible.

Driving apparel Racing Suit, Racing Gloves, And Racing Shoes 1. Driving suit, gloves, racing shoes and neck roll are mandatory and must be Sfi-approved fire retardant. SFI approved head-socks and Hans/Hutchins devices are highly recommended. Driver’s using a Hans/Hutchins device are exempt from using neck braces. No driver will be allowed to race with street shoes. All safety gear must be in good condition. No rips or frayed edges in driving suit.

Seats 1. Aluminum high back seats are MANDATORY. The top of the seat should be at the middle of the driver’s head. Must have head support. Head bolsters, Side bolsters, side impact head supports recommended. 2. All Seat must be attached to roll cage at shoulder height. Subject to tech inspection. 3. Seat covers and padding must be fire retardant. In good condition. No rips or holes. 4. Seat must be mounted with at least 4-3/8” bolts, in at least four (4) points.

Belts & Restraints

1. Arm Restraints Are Mandatory, must be used as instructed by the manufacturer. 2. All karts must be equipped with minimum of an SFI 16.1 approved restraint system seat belts and shoulder harnesses, within 3years of manufacture date. 3. Shoulder harnesses must be mounted in a way to restrict forward body motion independently of seat. Belts to be mounted per manufacture recommendations 4. Lap seat belts should be mounted on seat, securely fastened to the frame. Belts to be mounted per manufacture recommendations 5. Cut or frayed seat belts will not be allowed. This entire rule will be strongly enforced.

Helmets 1. Drivers must have Snell 2005 or better rated helmet, MUST be fullfaced,and fit the drivers head.

Race Receiver 1. One-way communication device is required as standard equipment for Box Stock ,250 And 500.highly Recommend for Beginner’s Drivers must have their unit on and working during all events of the race. Failure to observe this rule shall result in, your kart not being scored and/or additional penalty assessment may occur as per discretion Kart Officials. No radio communication between driver & Crew will 7

be permitted in any shape or form at any time in all classes.

Transponders 1. Mandatory. Supply your own or rent from the track. The AMB automated timing solution will be used for timing and scoring. All transponders must be attached securely to the steering post closest to the driver Seat as indicated in the diagram below. Failure to comply with this rule will result in not being scored, removal from the track and/or fines and penalties.

POINTS RULES/SYSTEMS 1. Point system will be disclosed at the first race. If there are questions, parents/drivers can ask a KART official to explain. 2. Drivers/parent may sign in only ONE KART number in their class and run that number KART for the entire event. 3. To be eligible for points and awards, drivers must not miss more than three scheduled point races, per series. 4. Borrowing a KART is permitted. KART must display Drivers registered number and lap counters must be notified in advance of such change. 5. Once the green flag has dropped in any race, drivers may NOT borrow KARTS to finish event. 6. Points and winnings are awarded to the registered KART number. 7. Substitute drivers are permitted for NO more than TWO scheduled point races. All substitute drivers must notify lap counters and be approved by KART officials in advance. Upper class drivers may not substitute for lower 8

class drivers; Rookies are allowed substitute drivers as long as substitute driver is a Rookie in the class; substitute drivers must meet age requirement of that class. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in loss of points for that event. 8. A driver may only race in one class per night, except for substitute drivers. 9. The car that the driver starts with in the heat race must be used in the main event. If a back-up car is used in the main event, driver will start last for that event. 10. When there is a tie in the points of any class, it will go to the driver that has won the most heats, main events and if that does not break the tie it will go to the Dirt Track Championship, where there will be a race off.

Point Calculations

How the Point System work at the Rattle Snake Raceway. In case of a tie the system looks at Most 1st places, 2nd places, 3rd places. POINT STRUCTURE 1. Trophy/Cash dash- No points will be awarded for the dash. 2. Heat Race: 1st Place- 10 points 2nd Place- 9 points 3rd Place- 8 points ETC... All positions -1 point on down 3. Main Event: 1st Place- 40 points 2nd Place- 39 points 3rd Place-38 points ETC... All positions -1 point on down All points stay with the car number. One Race throw away. The lowest total point race will be thrown out. A trophy or plaque award will be given to the drivers of all established classes (of six or more participants) finishing the season in the top ten positions.

ROOKIES 1. Rookie drivers must identify their cars. All rookie drivers will display a red ribbon mounted securely on the rear down tube of the roll cage. The tail of the ribbon must exit the rear window deck facing aft of the vehicle. This must be displayed for the entire first season. You may petition for its removal to track officials based on driving skills. 2. All rookies must register as rookie in writing to be eligible. All rookie request forms must be submitted by the 3rd race of the racing season. 3. A driver is not eligible for rookie status, if has previously raced 3 races or more during the previous seasons in the class applying for. 4. Any driver substituting for a driver applying for rookie status must also be a rookie. All substitute rules apply. 9

5. Please use the rookie request form provided on the last page of the packet.

Tech

All cars are subject to inspection at anytime. It is the responsibility of the driver to have their car in a safe racing condition. All safety equipment must be in the car at time of tech inspection. 1. All drivers are required to pass their car through safety/tech for each event prior to driving on the racetrack. The safety/tech pads are located in the center of the pits. Safety/tech officials will normally begin their procedures two hours prior to race time. Please be considerate with track officials and being late interrupts their race program preparation time. 2. A Tech Inspection Sheet will be used. If your car does not meet technical rules, you will be issued a repair citation. You will be allowed a grace race that night for no money or points. You must start scratch. If the safety equipment does not pass tech, you will not race until repaired/replaced. All citations must be inspected and cleared prior to next tech race inspection. It is the driver's responsibility to clear citations with tech. An outstanding citation is cause for a vehicle to fail tech inspection. 3. If a Kart has been cleared for race day, any driver may drive that car as long as he starts the race in that car. If you change drivers in the main event of the racing night, the car will start last. A driver may drive in more than one (1) class. You must register and pay for both cars when signing in at the pit gate. 4. The tech inspector and DOC have the right to change classification of any vehicle at any time. 5. POST MAIN EVENT INSPECTIONS: All classes are required to have the top four (4) karts go DIRECTLY to the tech area at completion of each event. Failure to go directly to tech area is an automatic disqualification. Only driver and car are allowed in tech area. One crewmember can be standing by for tech assist if required. Tech inspector will summon crewmember if required. 6. All crew members and/or spectators must NEVER approach and/or touch a kart that is in post tech until OK’d by Tech Inspector. 7. If track officials determine after the main event, that a vehicle does not meet applicable specifications, officials have the right to impose a penalty which may result in disqualification. If a disqualification occurs, driver may lose any/all points and money for that event. 8. Karts will be inspected using the safety list below on this page. Failure to fix items by race will result in suspension of kart.

ALL FINES FOR SAFETY VIOLATIONS must be paid before kart can return to competition. FAILURE TO FIX items by third race will result in suspension of kart. Any Official has the authority to disqualify a kart for safety violations.

RACING RULES & ETIQUETTE

1. Pay attention to the Flagman. Flagman starts the race. 2. Hot lapping occurs after wheel packing and is optional, but still at the discretion of the track officials. Hot laps shall be permitted by class. Pit crews are allowed to hot lap vehicles provided they have a pit pass and appropriate racing attire is required to be worn. Hot laps will be made at the discretion of the Flagman depending on the condition of the track 3. Heat race line up’s are by pill draw. Main event line up’s are 1st and 2nd in points and the winner of the last main event are in the 11

back. If you win a main event and miss a race, when you race again you will start in the back 4. Start Cones are used at this track. The pole position may start accelerating after passing the first cone. If a driver jumps a start, the track will go green and then back to yellow. The driver may be sent to the back of the pack for the next re-start. 5. Double file starts nose to tail. Flagman starts the race inside pole. Designated area marked out in turn 4. There will be 2 attempts at double file restart. IF not properly started after 2 attempts we will go single file. 6. All Karts have to complete the first lap for a race to be considered an official start. Only two complete re-starts will attempted to establish an official start. All karts will be placed in their original start positions. The car that caused the re-start will be charge with a yellow flag condition. However, the DOR or flagger may call for a re-start any time during the first lap. Once a race has declared an official start, or the event has used its two complete re-starts, the next start will utilized an outlaw re-start formation. 7. Restarts Double-File, allowing the leader to be inside pole. There will be 2 attempts at double file restart. IF not properly started after 2 attempts we will go single file. Single-File Restarts Karts will assemble in a single file running order. The lead Kart set the pace. Any Kart passing before this point or before the leader begins the race, will be sent to the back. 8. If a Kart has a MINOR problem on racetrack and an Official can easily fix it, kart will resume position. If the kart is sent to the pits or work area and returns to track, kart will line up in rear of pack. 9. Dead on the track, go to the back. 10. At the end of your race, take one cool down lap and then leave the track so the next race can start. Anyone taking more than one cool down lap could receive the black flag for that event. (Celebration lap with the checker flag doesn't count.) 11. DON’T EXIT KART AFTER CRASHES; If a Kart is involved in an accident and can no longer continue - and no extenuating circumstances exist such as fire, hot fluids spillage or etc. - the driver should not loosen any personal safety equipment and exit the kart until directed to do so by the safety personnel or a track official. Failure to observe this rule will result in loss of points and/or other appropriate penalties per track official’s discretion. Any vehicle causing a caution condition will be re-started at the back of the pack. If several cars are the cause of the caution, all will be re-started at the back of the pack. 12

THE FLAGMAN and DOC HAS CONTROL OF THE RACETRACK! Their DECISION IS FINAL!

FLAGS 1. GREEN: Official start of race. A driver does not have to take the initial green flag to enter a race. 2. YELLOW: CAUTION!! WE DO NOT RACE BACK TO YELLOW! Slow down and form a single file line. You will not go down a lap under yellow. Any driver causing a yellow flag condition will be sent to the back of the pack on the restart. In the instance where two or more drivers were at fault, all drivers will go to the back of the pack for the restart. Any driver causing two (2) yellow flags in one race will be Black Flagged. A self-invoked spinout to avoid an accident is not considered a spinout. Any car leaving the track for any reason will start at the back of the lineup regardless if the race has started or not. A driver leaving the track under yellow flag will be given two (2) courtesy laps to return to the event. The courtesy laps will start counting when the last car leaves the track. Once the lineup is correct and the flagger has crossed the cars up for a re-start, any car leaving at the time will not receive the two courtesy laps. Remain in a single file line while scorekeepers confirm lineup is correct. The flagger will signal you to cross up. 3. RED: Stop as safely as possible! SHUT OFF ENGINE! This lap will not be scored. Do not get out of your car unless it is on fire. No working on your car or receiving of assistance from pit personnel off the track. Do not re-start your engine or move your car until the yellow flag is displayed. Do not leave the track under a red flag unless directed by a track official, then do so very slowly and proceed to the tech pad. You must wait on the tech pad until the track is under yellow. Your pit crew can access the damage to your vehicle; however, no work can be done until the track is under yellow. If repairs are made, you will be disqualified and cannot return to the track. Remain in your car with all your safety gear on. NO EXCEPTIONS. VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION! 4. WHITE: One lap before checkered flag. If a leader of a race receives the white flag and a condition causes the track to be placed under yellow, that race will be called. The finish line up will be from the last completed lap. 5. CHECKERED: Race is complete. Drivers are allowed one (1) cool down lap and then must exit the track.

6. RED and YELLOW: Complete restart. 13

7. ROLLED UP BLACK FLAG: Warning for rough/aggressive/out of control driving, intentional or unintentional, of vehicle. Next incident may or may not result in full black flag. 8. BLACK: Driver must leave the track immediately and may be disqualified with loss of points and money for that event. A full black flag may be received without a warning. Driver must exit the track right away and proceed to the tech pad. A track official will inform the driver of the cause for the black flag. No one else is allowed on the tech pad at that time. If you receive the BLACK flag, you may not be allowed to return to that event. If you do not leave the track, a yellow flag will be thrown, and you will be directed off the the track. If you still do not leave, a red flag will be thrown and you may be towed off the track. Under either of these conditions, you may be subject to discipline as determined by the LARA board. 9. BLACK WITH ORANGE DOT: Mechanical problem with car. Excessive smoke, flat tire or loose body parts, etc. Driver must leave the track immediately. After problem is fixed, driver may return to the track. This flag will only be given twice during any one race. If this flag is not adhered to the driver will be given the black flag and may not return to that event. 10. BLUE WITH ORANGE STRIPE: Use to notify drivers that lead cars are approaching. Hold your line. Do not move up or down. This flag will be used at the discretion of the flagman. If a driver should abuse or continually disrespect these flags when given, corrective action may be applied by LARA's board of directors.

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT 1. Fighting on the premises of any host track may result in permanent suspension. Drivers are minors; therefore their parents are responsible for their actions and the actions of their pit crew/spectators. 2. Rough driving at any time will result in docked position, fines or a black flag 3. Pit crew members observed verbally or physically abusing drivers, other pit crew members, staff volunteers and/or track officials may result in loss of accrued points for their driver and/or a fine, or permanent suspension. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Design Rules Frames/Cages

1. Must be of kart configuration. 2. Not to exceed 90” in overall length. NO EXCEPTIONS. 3. Halo Bar—Mandatory 14

4. Roll Cages are Mandatory. Must be for protection of driver. Not for looks or wing mounts. Minimum standard for roll cage (tubing thickness): 5. a. All classes ¾” .083 chrome molly or 1” .065 chrome molly or 1” .083 steel. 6. b. No exotic steel. 7. Roll cage must be securely fastened with grade 5 or better bolt, in at least four spots. 8. Roll cage height minimum of 2” clearance above driver’s head. 4” Recommended. 9. Driver’s body must be completely inside roll cage. Kart Bodies can be any material, except wood. 10. Doors: No suicide bars. 11. Side bar must open from the rear and be hinged at the front. Left side protection is Highly Recommended. 12. No sharp edges or protruding parts 13. No bars, other than regular Nerf bar, may extend past outer edge of tire on either side of kart. 14. No front-end cowcatchers. This is open wheel racing.

Wings, Hoods and Tail Pieces 1. Mandatory in all class All Karts must start each Event/Race with all body parts safely installed. No Plastic!! 2. Sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart. No sharp edges or too long of bolt. Overall length 48” maximum.

Tail piece protection:

1. Tail section must be securely attached to the frame. If the top of the tail section protrudes above the seat, tail must be padded. Suggested padding: Plumbing foam

WING

1. Uppermost part of kart and wing not to exceed 72”. 2. Beginner Box and Box Stock classes only, WING Minimum size 26” wide by 28” long., with minimum 10” inch sideboards.

Numbers

1. Numbers must be displayed on contrasting background. 2. ALL KARTS MUST DISPLAY 10” NUMBERS ON RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF KART AND WING 3. Also Would Like to see a 5” #’s on the nose and tail 4. Illegible numbers will not be scored. 5. Duplicate numbers must include a letter. All Letters must be at minimum, half the size of the number displayed. 6. All cars must be neatly painted. Take pride in your Kart. Karts must be washed prior to race day. Tech may refuse to inspect karts until it has been cleaned. 7. All classes may use two digits and must be in compliance with above rule #3. All numbers must be of a contrasting color from the color of the vehicle. 15

Senior LARA members have priority for their numbers. If they do not register their number with their membership by March 31st, of each year/race season, then those numbers are open to anyone who applies for them. Non-member drivers from out of town with the same number as a LARA member, will be assigned a letter by the tech inspector. If your number cannot be instantly recognized, the car may not be allowed to compete.

Tires 1. Must be kart type Tires only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter. 2. Right rear tire must durometer 50 or higher. This can be checked at any time. 3. You will be given one minute after race to re-check tire if it fails first durometer.

Weight and measurements 1. All karts must weigh and meet the minimum weight designated in their perspective class. 2. Additional bolt-on weight will be permitted, but must be mounted and fastened to the chassis in a secure manner. All additional bolt-on weight must be bolted on and painted white with the driver name and kart number on the weight. 3. The scales will be available and open to scale karts prior to Heat Races. 4. The top 4 karts only will be weighed after all main events. If a kart is found to be light this shall result in the loss of their finish and be DQ & NO Points!!

Fuel tank

1. Fuel tank location: Out board mounted fuel tanks must have metal protection, particularly fuel pet cock area. 2. Fuel line location cannot be closer than 2” to any of the exhaust system at any time and shall not be above the exhaust. If closer than 2”, fuel line must be insulated. Fuel line must have ample slack for cage movement. Must be petroleum grade fuel line.

Fuel

1. Fuel must pass the following test: A:Visual; B. Smell C. Gravity test; 2. Karts will be tested for fuel requirements. Fines will be assessed for failure to meet any one of the tests indicated above.  1st Offense: loss of points for that day’s events or out for the rest of the day’s competition.  2nd offense: 1 Race suspension 3. Fuel additives, including but not limited to nitro, nitro methane and/or nitrous oxide injection will not be permitted. Fuel samples may be taken from time-to-time for inspection and analysis. Failure to surrender a fuel sample shall result in disqualification. 16

Axle

1. No Axle protrusion beyond wheel rim. 2. No Carbon Fiber or exotic metal axles allowed.

Muffler

1. All mufflers must be securely mounted. Mufflers that are mounted with pop rivets and/or sheet metal screws will not be permitted. 2. Any muffler changes after the car has been through inspection will not be permitted. Physical damage from a crash and/or other incident will also permit a change. 3. The mufflers must remain attached to the header at all times. All muffler and header components must remain intact and operating. If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/or failures to operate, the kart must leave the track immediately. Failure to leave the track could result in disqualification.

Chain guards

1. Mandatory. Appropriate design to prevent injury to arm.

Brakes

1. Must be in good working condition at all times.

Kill Switch

1. REQUIREMENT in all Classes since 2016 2. Kill switch to be located inside the driver compartment and accessible to the driver in case of emergencies. This will take place of the 6” nylon tie attached to the spark plug wires. 3. If a Kill Switch Remote is used it must be given to a track official.

MOTOR

1. NO traction control or electronic devices that alter timing or RPM’s in any way. 2. NO turbo, superchargers, or after-market injection systems.

Mirrors

1. No rearview mirrors.

Beginner’s, Box Stock and 125/250 classes

All Motors subject to inspection. Refusal to surrender motor for inspection upon request shall result in disqualification, possible suspension from track and banishment of that motor from racing permanently.

BEGINNER BOX Stock Drivers Age limits

1. Drivers must 5 to 9 years of age, (driver must be 5 years old at beginning of racing season.) (All exceptions must be approved by promoter.) 8-9 years allowed only if Rookies 2. Drivers 8-9 years old years with one season of racing experience will be promoted to BOX Stock class at the discretion of the track officials, this will be based in the drivers experience, learning and driving abilities. 17

1. Pump Gas ONLY Max 91 Octane. NO ALCOHOL, ADDITIVES OR OXYGENATES ALLOWED

Weight 1.

Minimum weight kart only 185 lbs. with driver.

Tires

1. Must be kart type Tires only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter. 2. Right rear tire must durometer 50 or higher. This can be checked at any time. 3. You will be given one minute after race to re-check tire if it fails first durometer.

Wing

1. Minimum size 26” wide by 28” long, with minimum 10” sideboards.

Motor

2. Stock Predator (Harbor Freight) 6.5 HP is only engine permitted, 5500 RPM Max 3. Straight out of the BOX , No Modifications , 4. No on board starting systems: pull rope only 5. DRUM Type Clutch ONLY 6. Must have stock timing. 7. No Key or Keyway Modifications 8. Factory spec valve springs only (will be subject to tech) 9. Any doubt about these specifications, contact Promoter.

Changes that are allowed to the motor: 1. You may run any spark plug that you like. 2. You may change the spark plug boot.

Things you MAY NOT do:

1. Modify any physical part of the motor or alter air box. 2. Remove, alter or leave off air filter, this includes filter foam. 3. Drill out or alter any jets. 4. Modify or alter header, you may not install E.G.T. sensor into header. 5. Muffler may not be altered. 6. No valve spring shims or altering of valve springs in any way. 7. No flywheel timing. No altering or stock flywheel. 8. No carburetor or restrictor air leak 9. All fuel filters must have one inlet and one outlet. Any and all breathers must be by passed by a Tee back to the fuel tank. Banishment of that motor from racing permanently.

BOX STOCK CLASS Drivers Age limits:

1. Drivers must 8 years of age or older, driver must have at least 1 race season of experience. (All exceptions must be approved by promoter.) 2. Drivers may be moved up depending on experience and driving ability at the discretion of the Kart track officials 18

Straight out of the BOX, No Modifications, NO OTHER MOTORS ALLOWED! 4. No on board staring systems: pull rope or hand held starts only 5. EXCEPTIONS ARE AIR CLEARNER AND EXHAUST

Changes that are allowed to the motor:

1. You may run any spark plug, or sparkplug boot that you like. 3. You may run any valve lash that you desire.

Things you MAY NOT do:

1. Factory spec valve springs only (will be subject to tech) No valve spring shims or altering of valve spring in any way. 2. Must have stock timing. No Key or Keyway Modifications 3. Carburetor bore maximum 1.029 (will be checked with no-go gauge, gauge can’t touch slide.) 4. No altering modifying of motor parts. Valve cover, header (E.G.T. is allowed.) 5. Muffler is non-tech, but must maintain D.B.A. level. 6. No altering of flywheel. 7. No altering of intake manifold, but manifold extensions are allowed. Extension may not protrude more than quarter inch into manifold. 8. No manifold or extension air leaks

125 / 250cc INTERMEDIATE CLASS Drivers Age limits:

Drivers must 10 to 17 years of age, all exceptions must be approved by promoter. Drivers 10 years old years of age with one season of racing experience may be promoted to 250 class at the discretion of the track officials, this will be based in the drivers experience, learning and driving abilities. 19

1. Race Gas, NO Nitromethane

Weight

1. Minimum weight kart only 380 lbs. with driver.

Motor:

1.125 = 125 CC 2 stroke 2. 250 = 250 CC, 250 Four stroke – 250F must be OEM stock bore and Stroke!!! No porting angle changes, no welding of ports 3. ALL MOTORS SUBJECT TO CC INSPECTION 4. Motor must be from a production dirt bike.

Clutch

1. Must have complete and working clutch. NO SLIPPER CLUTCHES!

TIRES

2. Must be kart type Tires only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter. 3. Right rear tire must durometer 50 or higher. This can be checked at any time. 4. You will be given one minute after race to re-check tire, if it fails first durometer.

500 / OPEN CLASS Drivers Age limits:

1. Drivers must 14 years of age, all exceptions must be approved by promoter AND Kart DOC. 2. Drivers 15 years old years of age with one season of racing experience may be promoted to 500 class at the discretion of the track officials, this will be based in the drivers experience, learning and driving abilities.

FUEL

1. No Nitromethane

Weight

1. Minimum weight kart only 450 lbs. with driver. Adjustment for average kart weight will occur following the 1st points race

Motor:

1. Dirt bike style, single cylinder, and single carburetor - 550cc max 2 stroke with Motor: OEM cast cylinder i.e. no aftermarket cylinder. 575cc maximum on four strokes

Clutch

1. Must have complete and working clutch.

2. Must be kart type Tires only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter. 3. Right rear tire must durometer 50 or higher. This can be checked at any time. 4. You will be given one minute after race to re-check tire if it fails first durometer.

PROTESTS 20

1. A procedural protest must be in writing and filed with a track official by the end of the race night. The protest must be specific in alleged violation to determine whether protest is allowed or rejected. One item per protest, per event only. All protests will be filed individually and must be accompanied with a $40 cash deposit, $10 of the deposit will be retained by the track for administration. Item being protested is found legal, the entire deposit will be forfeited. If found legal, $30 of deposit will be refunded to the protester. 2. Technical/mechanical protests must be presented in writing to the Director of Racing, (DOR) along with a $200 protest fee (cash only), no later than 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Main Event in which the protested car is competing. Only drivers competing in their class may protest cars within that class. The protest document will describe specifically what is being protested. The DOR may defer the teardown to minimize the damage done from dirt at the racetrack. However, steps will be taken to ensure that the evidence is not destroyed or altered. In all cases the inspection will take place before the protested car is allowed to compete again. Protested cars found to be within the prescribed limits will result in the presentation of the protest fee to the owner of the car being protested. If the car being protested is found to be illegal, the car and driver will be disqualified for that nights events and suffer the loss of all points and money earned. Any disqualified driver may be assessed an additional fine, additional loss of drivers’ points and possible race suspensions as decided by the LARA board members. All illegal items must be corrected in accordance with LARA class rules prior to racing. A driver may not protest more than one car per event, and may not protest the same driver more than once per race season. Drivers may not join forces to file a protest against another driver. The party against whom the protest is made has a right to know the charge and have a written copy thereof so that they may adequately defend themselves against any action. 3.
