Landmark Center, Saint Paul. Saturday April 1st, 11AM – 5PM. The festival kicks off Minnesota Tartan Week events and begins with the foot parade around Rice Park. It also features dance groups from around the region, pipe bands, and other traditional Scottish music performances, cultural information sessions, as well as food and merchandise vendors. • Kirkin’ of the Tartan. St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, Minneapolis. Sunday April 2nd, 2PM . The St. Andrew’s Society of Minnesota and the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Mark’s will be hosting a Kirkin’ of the Tartan service on Sunday April 2. This will be a 2PM service and is followed by a fellowship including Scottish shortbread and other treats. For those who have never attended a Kirkin’, the service blesses all of the tartans and hearkens back to the end of the English ban of the display and wearing of any Tartan. No cost. • Merlins Rest Pub Sing. Merlins Rest Pub, Minneapolis. Monday April 3rd, 7PM – 9PM. The Pub Singers share an informal pub sing at Merlin’s Rest in Minneapolis. This is an opportunity for anyone to come and join in the singing or just sit back a listen to all kinds of Scottish songs from traditional to modern. No cost.
