Google has even updated their search engine to adapt to the demand for a more mobile friendly experience. With more people consuming data through their cellular devices, Google announced that they will be prioritizing businesses that have engineered their site to be mobile responsive.

Instagram Stories are getting bigger and better! After only two months of this feature launch, Instagram Stories have gained 150 million daily users! This feature is a huge (free!) marketing advantage that allows businesses to increases brand awareness and follower exposure which would generate leads, website traffic and sales on products and services.

With over 1.10 million active daily users Facebook doesn’t show any signs of slowing down! Along with Messenger, Market Place and Go Live. (Along with YouTube) Facebook declared that in 2017 they will release a 360 degrees video feature for Facebook Live users to use on all pages and profiles. This is great for businesses to monetize and stream live events of their properties, events, brand and community.

Video! The biggest successor of 2016 was the demand for video on all major social platforms and advertising campaigns.  With the amount of evidence  being discovered on the efficiency and popularity for video, more  than  60% of business owners and advertising agencies have increased their investments  towards video marketing for 2017

People who watch business videos are 64% more likely to make purchase after watching a video.

Since their 2016 update, Google now prioritizes video on their search engine result pages (SERP). Video increases your SERP ranking by establishing quality backlinks, lowering your bounce back rate by keeping customers on your page longer.

Youtube was bought out by Google and it's the 2nd largest (and only) search engine dedicated to Video!

Also updated their app to include live videos and stories and skippable ads.

Visual content is essential for capturing consumer attention online. In fact, over 70% of digital markets use visuals in their advertising plans. The future of digital marketing is leaning heavily towards immediacy and real-time updates, which makes live streaming video such a powerful medium for connecting businesses with their audiences. Live streaming on Facebook Live is an easy way for companies to create content with a sense of urgency that resonates with viewers.

A Cisco Study even announced that global internet traffic from videos will make up 80% of all internet traffic by 2020!
