MOOSE LAKE SUMMER RECREATION FOR YOUTH & ADU LTS Chicken Art-An AGE to age Event For Youth & Adults Spend a few hours with Instructor, Charlene Herrick, and you’ll paint your very own version of this chicken masterpiece! Charlene will provide all materials, we’ll supply coffee and cookies and you’ll leave with a completed painting and a smile! For ages 10 & up, all youth must be accompanied by an adult. **Space is limited, you must register prior to the event. Located in the MLHS Community Ed./KIDS Plus room Saturday, June 17th 10:00a-1:00pCourse Fee: $10 per person (Special AGE to age rate) ?What is AGE to age? Moose Lake Community Education’s program specifically designed to implement activities & avenues for youth & adults to enjoy together-oh, one of our projects was the pavilion by the river! We’re funded by the Northland Foundation in Duluth. Red Cross Swimming Lessons Mondays-Thursdays

Cost per Moose Lake student/district resident: $55, $45 if utilizing the free/reduced lunch program at the Moose Lake School. $60 per non-resident. Level 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 offered. The bus is available for students age 6 & older, or who have completed Kindergarten, and picks up/drop offs are in the High School parking lot, near the gym door benches. Barb Lund will meet students by the benches or inside the doors if the weather is poor. BUS LEAVES MLHS: Promptly at 11:15 a.m. and returns approx. 2:45 p.m.. Wear your suit to the pool, change after you swim-PLEASE. Bring goggles if you are sensitive to chlorine. *We’ll be divided into two groups, the Early Group swims at 12:00 p.m. & the Late Group swims at 1:00 p.m.. We’ll have access to the Cloquet Youth Center -upstairs from the pool, where we’ll eat our lunches, play pool, board games, etc.. Bring $ if you want to buy a snack. *Leave any electronic device with a camera at home. Lessons are taught by Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructors who are employed by the City of Cloquet. Bus, Pool & Youth Center Supervisors are Barb Lund, Vicki Radzak & staff.

You’ll spend a lovely afternoon on brewery tour while enjoying samples of the likes of lamb meatballs, chocolate truffles, four versions of fermented hops & more! Sporting your new Moose Lake Brewery T-shirt, (included in event price) you’ll find yourself surrounded by fellow purveyors of fine eats and drinks as you stuff your cerebrum with the ins and outs of pairing interactions, fermentation science and flavor profiles. Ed. Summer Gymnastics Mondays June 5- July 10 Summer is a great time to try out our gymnastics program! Gymnastics is a sport designed to develop strength, coordination, balance and flexibility. Class will include warm up, stretching and basic tumbling as well as balance beam and vault activities. Instructor, Carrie Sandell is the MLWR Cheerleading Coach and provides gymnastics here at the school throughout the year. Summer Science Camp July 17-20 & July 31-Aug.2
Summer Dance
Moose Lake Elementary teachers, Mr. Hubred and Mr. Borak, invite you to Summer Science Camp. During the week students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands- on science experiences which include: dry ice root beer floats, making Oobleck, bottle rockets, bubbles, science magic, trapping, and a nature walk. The cost includes all science supplies, small snack & a t-shirt . Students should bring their own water bottle and an empty plastic 2liter and another small plastic bottle (water or pop). Register Today, 20 student max! For students entering 3rd-7th grades.
Enjoy four weeks of dancing with Madeline Gilman of Diamond Dance. Each week the dancers will learn a different genre of dance- jazz, ballet/lyrical, hip hop, & tapall building towards a performance on June 23rd. Dancers should wear tights and tighter fitting shorts and shirt. The younger students may wear ballet dresses or leotards. For shoes, any of the following are okay: ballet shoes, lyrical shoes, tennis shoes, or jazz shoes. If your dancer has tap shoes, they may bring them on June 23rd. Don’t forget to put down t-shirt size when registering.

Play ball!! We’re doing things a little differently this year. Monday nights will be skill stations, Tuesdays we’ll have team scrimmages and on Wednesdays, we’ll play a real game against the Willow River teams. Teamwork and basic skills will be taught along with fun ways in which to work on these skills. MLHS staff will run the program, but Parent Volunteer coaches are needed for game days, let us know if you can help when you register, Please! Weather policy: If you see lightning, we won’t play. However, we have the gym as backup on Mondays & Tuesdays. Hope for good weather on Wednesdays! Must register by June 10th to receive team t-shirt!!!!! ML Elem. Art Camps with Local Artist Jennifer Szczyrbak July 10, 11 & July 12,13 Back by popular demand, our local artist, Jennifer Szczyrbak, is offering a variety of artistic adventures for our kids. Be prepared for fun & creativity using various forms of media! 1st-3rd Grade Camp MLHS Art Room 2 Day Session July 10 & 11 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Fee: $40 (Bring a snack & paint shirt) Jennifer will get a little more in-depth with the older students & has some great masterpieces planned! 4th-6th Grade Camp MLHS Art Room 2 Day Session July 12 & 13 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Fee: $40 (Bring a snack & paint shirt)
Designed for the younger crowd, all 3 & 4 year olds are invited to join us for a little t-ball prep. time. Barney will show you how to throw, bat and run the bases- cheering each other on the whole time! A parent needs to attend with their child. We’ll start a little after T-ball begins and end a little earlier, (in case you have a child in that program also.) Look for us across from the playground by the cafeteria’s back door. Tuesdays, JULY 11& 18 6:45-7:15 p.m. Fee: $5, includes T-shirt! Please Register by June 10th.
More Fun on Saturdays?? YES! Community Education will be at the Farmer’s Market this summer, under the pavilion. The Northland Foundation’s Summer Intern Program funds our two summer interns. Fun events & food samples will be planned for Saturdays at the Market through the summer-How to find out what’s going on? Moose Lake Farmers Market on Facebook-or stop by the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays, 8a-12p beginning Memorial Day!
Youth Driver’s Classroom Education Community Education offers teen driver’s education in cooperation with Mille Lacs Driving Instruction (MLDI) the goal of MLDI is not only to have students pass their driving test, but to help them become safe drivers. All instructors are licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety.
