FOR YOUR CHILDREN
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 Jn 5:4-5

Augustine’s mother, Monica (331-357), was the mother of three and the wife of a malicious man. Like many, Augustine spent his younger years in pursuit of purpose. Every road down a philosophical trail and every search for significance at the bottom of a bottle left Augustine empty. But Augustine remembered his momma’s prayers and in his autobiography, Confessions, he tells how his mother “wept to [God] for me, shedding more tears for my spiritual death
than other mothers shed for the bodily death of a son." Augustine became a Christian whose influence is still felt today. Susanna Wesley was known to pray for two hours a day and frequently slipped into a private place to pray even more. Her sons, John and Charles started the Methodist church...world changers. Hudson Taylor’s mom consistently sought God’s face for her son$ and then one day she shut the door behind her and resolved not to leave until her prayers were answered. That day Hudson Taylor gave his life to Christ and lived to turn China upside down for Christ.
