Before getting started with goal setting with your learners, you may want to play-out how this process will work with colleagues.

3.3.3 Activity: Goal Setting and Conferencing Role Play Time: 60 minutes Type: Learning Who: 3 teachers Difficulty: 4/5 This gets you: A sense of how goal setting will play-out with a learner. Keep in mind: In many ways, conferencing will take the place of your lesson planning. Find time in your routine or create a new routine to allow time for conferencing with your learners. Directions:  One person is learner  One person is educator  One person is observer Role play a goal setting conference, creating a goal that would be applicable to your classroom. The role of the observer is to watch and reflect on what is happening during the conference as an outsider. Change roles and repeat until each person in your triad has done all three roles. Going through each perspective will help you understand the conference a little differently.
