9x18mm Polish semiautomatic pistol P-83 Wanad (Radom) complete disassembly guide. Field strip the gun and then: Disassembly the slide: 1. Remove safety lever (13): rotate and set the lever between “fire” and “safe” position, use the cleaning rod tip and press the firing pin(10) as far as possible 2. Grasp the firing pin (10) tip with two fingers of left hand, and pull the firing pin forward as far as possible 3. While holding the firing pin (10) in its foremost position, rotate the safety lever (13) counterclockwise and align it parallel to the rear edge of the slide(1) and pull out the safety lever (13) overcoming the lock of safety detent (14) and its spring (15) 4. remove the safety lever (13) with caution: the firing pin (10), the safety detent(14) and springs (11, 15) are likely to “jump out” the slide! 5. Punch out (from outside the slide) the extractor pin(17), remove the extractor (16) and extractor spring/chamber indicator(18) 6. Punch out the rear sight(12) (not recommended). Disassembly the frame: 1. Remove the grip screw(9) and grip panels(8)
2. Put the frame on the table with grip up, with right thumb press the magazine release lever(40) overcoming the force of hammer spring (29), disengage the magazine release lever (40) from frame slots, and remove it with hammer spring rod(30) and hammer spring (29) [The alternative, easier but more violent way of removing hammer spring rod (30), spring (29) and the magazine release lever(40) is to grasp the hammer rod(30) with pliers, squeeze the hammer spring (29) by pulling the rod down, and disengaging it from the hammer pin(28), and then – remove the assembly] 3. Remove the hammer: put the frame left side down on your left hand, and with right hand and the cleaning rod push out the hammer pin(28), remove the safety engagement(34), the hammer(27) and hammer latch lever(31) 4. Disconnect the sear(24): put the frame left side down on your left hand, and with right hand and the cleaning rod push out the slide catch lever pin(26), remove slide catch lever(35), slide catch lever spring(36), the sear(24) and its spring(25) 5. Remove the sear bar(19): put the frame right side down on your left hand, and with right hand and the cleaning rod disengage the trigger spring(39) from sear bar(19), disengage the sear bar(19), push out the trigger pin(38), remove the trigger(37) and trigger spring(39), remove the disassembly release(4) with detent(5) and detent spring(6), disengage the sear spring(20) 6. Remove the sear housing lever(21): put the frame right side down on your left hand, and with right hand and the cleaning rod push out the sear pin(23) and remove the sear housing lever(21) with sear housing spring(22) Disassembly the magazine: 1. Use the cleaning rod to push extended, bent leg of the magazine follower sprig(43) visible in magazine bottom plate(44) cutout, and slide off the magazine bottom plate(44) with left thumb 2. Pull out the magazine spring(43) and magazine follower(42) Reassembly the magazine: 1. Insert the sear housing spring(22), sear housing lever(21) and sear pin in to the frame, and hook the spring(22) with lever(21) 2. Insert the disassembly release(4) with detent(5) and spring in to the frame(6) 3. Assembly the trigger: place the trigger spring(39) with longer arm forward in trigger(37), insert the assembly in the frame, hook the longer arm of the trigger spring(39) in designated slot in inner front surface of the frame, insert trigger pin(38) 4. Assembly the trigger bar(19): put the trigger bar(19)on the right side of the frame and hook its pivot in trigger(37)upper hole. While holding the trigger bar(19) use the cleaning rod, and place the short arm of trigger spring(39) in slot of trigger bar(19) pivot. 5. Assembly the sear(24). Put the sear(24) in its designated slot so the trigger bar(19) catch engages the sear(24). Put the slide catch lever(35) and its spring (36) on the slide catch lever pin(26) and insert partly the pin(26) in to coaxially aligned holes in the frame and the sear(24). Insert the sear spring(25) with bend end up in designated slot in rear interior surface of the frame and on the slide catch lever pin(26). Push the lever pin(26) until it locks; use the cleaning rod to hook the short arm of the sear spring(25)in the sear slot 6. Insert the extractor spring/chamber indicator(18) in its slot on the surface of extractor(16), compress the spring, align the holes in the slide(1) and extractor(16),and lock the extractor(16) with its pin(17). Make sure the extractor pin(17) is not pushed too far and does not extend out of the inner surface of the slide, and chamber indicator is visible on the upper left surface of the slide. 2. Assembly the firing pin(10), safety detent(14) and safety lever(13): put the firing pin spring(11) on the firing pin(10) and insert it in to the slide, set with hook down.
