The opening of the Holy Doors will be an historical moment, certain to draw the whole world’s adenZon to Rome’s Papal Basilicas and be the ideal opportunity to tell the story, in spectacular 3D and 4K, using a narraZve language that will emoZonally involve audiences, as they witness the magnificence that lies inside the four Basilicas.
HELP!
Are you experienced
with the latest in wifi technology? Networking? Servers? Do you know someone who does this professionally? We are having some issues. The guest wifi here at SJV is not working at all - it may be Zme to revamp the system! We have repeaters around, yet the signal has never really goden into the social hall very well – perhaps they need to be hardwired? Our second computer in the office needs to be replaced – Maria would like some help choosing the right machine and has some quesZons about networking the 2 computers or possibly gemng a ‘server’ to have common programs in one place but could be accessed from both computers. If you have some solid experience/informaZon yourself or the phone number of someone who does that could help with either/both of these issues, please contact Maria in the office. 206-567-4149. Thank-you! Did you know you can access our bulletin on our website? Visit www.stjohnvianneyvashon.com and click the bulleZn with the correct date listed on the lep side.
CHANGES AROUND THE CHURCH
You may noZce some improvements around the outside of the church! We had some landscapers come in and do some major cleaning up in the beds behind the altar and around the front of the church. You may remember aper the cherry tree had to come down due to the roots buckling the sidewalk immediately outside our front door, we sought ideas for the landscaping in front of the church. Doug Tuma graciously donated his Zme and provided an architectural plan which included benches, paving stones and a few new plants. The benches & paving stones have arrived and will soon be installed! Salmon Bake wrap up! Seems like the Salmon Bake was six months ago, and really only two, which means this was the usual busy Vashon Maury Island summer. Final numbers show net revenue of $7872.67. Many thanks from coordinators Mary Frances Lyons and Jim Roy to behindthe-scenes commidee members Robert and Diane Kajca, and Jim and Connie Walker. And thanks especially to Maria Pomnger, whose rummage sale brought in almost half the net revenue. Also special thanks to Cindy and Ed Odo, who held the Benefit Dinner with Father this year. And thanks to Ace Vashon Hardware for their raffle sponsorship. And to all the many volunteers, without which the Salmon Bake would not happen. On to next year!! If you have interest in a leadership role(s) with the Salmon Bake, we would love to hear from you!

NEIGHBORCARE HEALTH
As you are probably aware, Neighborcare Health is taking over the Vashon Clinic, opening in the coming weeks, with many of the same providers. The business model is anZcipated to be more successful for the long term based on payment structures. An aggressive funding campaign to jump-start the new enterprise has been largely successful. Going forward, the best way to support Neighborcare Health and to ensure that there are reliable and affordable primary care health services on Vashon Maury Island is to choose to get your primary health care there. Forms to facilitate records transfer are in the vesZbule, as well as addiZonal informaZon on the new center.
