A case of RENAL CALCULUS Mr.Jayakumar 40 male, came to consult at my clinic, with severe agonizing lower abdominal pain on 15-05-2012. Pains are always right sided, sharp, lancinating through the spine and settles at scrotum. He has to wait for a long time to pass urine. Pain chiefly comes before micturation , a slight relif on voiding the utine. He got frequent gastric distention and beltching most of the times. his wife frequently complained about the gastric distension and the pain there of.Often they thinks that the pain is of gastric discomfort. His complaints started 7years back and diagnosed as multiple renal calculus at MCH Thiruvananthapuram. He happened to took two surgical procedures to correct the symptoms. Unfortunately, it came as severe agonizing lower abdominal pain 6months after the last surgery. He is an autorikashaw driver since last 10 years. Before that, he was a maison. Occasionally hypertensive . married, having 2 children.Very sensitive man, especially about his family. Does not like to be alone. Fears to take a responsible duty. He has a history of asthma in child hood.both his parents are diabetic. He was under allopathic treatment for the renal colic as well as gastric discomfort, getting only temporary relief. His appetite was good, preferred to take warm food, increased thirst, good sleep, bowels are regular, and the swat is normal. On examination, no evidence for any pathology seen. Showed his previous reports, showing evidence of renal calculus. After taking the case completely, given Lycopodium 200 1dose. Came after one week showing marked changes in all symptoms, given sl and bts for one more week. Case revew after one month showed recurance of some symptoms, gave Lycopodium

1M 1sose. Patient got relief from the renal colic almost completely. At the midnight of july 20, he phoned me yelling in pain. Gave beriberis vulgaris Q 10 drops 6 hourly, giving no relief. He got hospitalized, and given IV saline. Early in the morning, he passed the calculus with a stream of bloody urine. Pains gone spontaniously afterwards. Done one more USS whole abdomen with pelvis, showing no evidence of any calculus.

The most striking thing I found in this case is that, pain always comes at right side, where as the calculus exactly was on right side .t
