A Jar of Fractions Fractions Materials: o Jar of Fractions Game Board o 2 dice with 1-6 numbers o 10 game pieces for each player. Each player needs different color game pieces than their opponent. (e.g. use beans or chips) Players: o 2 players Directions: o
Players Roll 2 dice. They put the smallest number over the biggest number to form a fraction. For example: if a player rolls a 3 and a 5, they form the fraction 3/5 or three fifths.
o
They find the fraction on the game board and cover it with a game piece. If there is no fraction to cover, the player loses their turn.
o
If a player rolls two 1’s, they may cover any whole fraction.
o
Play continues until the first player covers 10 fractions on the board.
o
Note: For a shorter version, cover only 5 fractions.
