ABSTRACT The purpose of this dissertation will be to examine key variables of social mobility as shown in the development of Yuen Kei Alliance Church as well as Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Hong Kong from 1980 to 2010. Socio-economic factors and Church Growth theories all have their respective contributions in shaping the middle class identity of the denomination as reflected in the growth of YKAC from its members who are mostly of lower class background moving toward becoming middle class after two decades. I engage this project with integration of sociological insights, theological reflection and urban mission strategies. Incarnational Mobility is recommended as theory and practice for urban mission.
