ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Subject to conditions prescribed by the undersigned, sealed bids for a Contract are invited for the following Work: Minor Hall CRP16 Chiller Replacement – Re-Bid PROJECT NO. 17195A Estimated Construction Cost: $650,000 UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY, CA; ALAMEDA COUNTY DESCRIPTION OF WORK: i. Replacement of existing 175-ton air-cooled chiller with a new 200-ton air-cooled chiller, modification of existing chilled water distribution system and converting into primary-secondary piping system, incorporating the two existing chillers CH-1 and CH-2 into one chilled water distribution system, replace associated air separator and expansion tanks, controls, and other associated work. ii. Furnish and install a fully integrated chilled water control system, incorporating Automated Logic Corporation (ALC) direct digital controls (DDC) for equipment monitoring and control and subsystems as specified. iii. Removal of existing equipment and piping as shown on demolition plans. iv. Providing required electrical power connections as shown on electrical drawings. v. Structural and/or seismic support for the chiller, pumps, tanks, piping, and other associated equipment. Modify existing chiller seismic support, replace the spring isolator, adjust location of one row of spring isolation support, and install new additional spring isolators per structural engineer’s design. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor’s letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: 1. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) projects of similar or larger size and complexity (construction value of $650,000 or greater) completed in the past five (5) years that meet the criteria listed below and demonstrate the bidder’s ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. 2. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 3. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) owner’s name, (c) contract value at award, (d) total Change Order value, (e) completion date, (f) Owner’s Representative address and current phone number and (g) brief scope. 2. All projects on all UC Campuses within the last 5 years. 3. Statement must include the following declaration: I,

Sealed Bids must be received on or before 2:00 P.M., February 22, 2018. Sealed Bids will not be accepted after 2:00 P.M., February 22, 2018. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be conducted on February 8, 2018, beginning promptly at 9:00 A.M. Participants shall meet at the Minor Hall Front Entrance – Southeast Corner. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Conference in its entirety, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. NOTE: Prospective bidders will find that parking may be difficult. The Owner recommends that you allow ample time to find a parking space, walk to and locate the starting point from which the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Site Visit will begin. Prospective bidders arriving late after the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Site Visit has commenced will not be allowed to submit a bid as a prime contractor for this project. Prospective bidders must be present for the entire Pre-Bid Site Visit. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following State of California Contractor's license current at the time of submission of the Bid:
