ADMINISTRATIVE​ ​PROCEDURE​ ​APPROVAL/ADOPTION Background In​ ​order​ ​to​ ​achieve​ ​the​ ​Board’s​ ​will​ ​and​ ​to​ ​be​ ​compliant​ ​with​ ​Board​ ​policies,​ ​the​ ​chief superintendent​ ​is​ ​responsible​ ​to​ ​ensure​ ​the​ ​development​ ​of​ ​administrative​ ​procedures. Administrative​ ​procedures​ ​are​ ​intended​ ​to​ ​establish​ ​and​ ​maintain​ ​appropriate​ ​operational​ ​and administrative​ ​continuity​ ​and​ ​consistencies. Procedure 1. Responsibility​ ​for​ ​the​ ​adoption​ ​of​ ​new​ ​administrative​ ​procedures​ ​or​ ​changing​ ​existing administrative​ ​procedures​ ​is​ ​undertaken​ ​by​ ​the​ ​chief​ ​superintendent,​ ​through superintendents,​ ​area​ ​directors​ ​and​ ​staff​ ​comprising​ ​Administration​ ​Council.​ ​Each​ ​member of​ ​Administration​ ​Council​ ​is​ ​expected​ ​to​ ​identify,​ ​develop​ ​or​ ​revise​ ​administrative​ ​procedures as​ ​required​ ​in​ ​their​ ​respective​ ​areas​ ​of​ ​responsibility. 2. Members​ ​of​ ​Administration​ ​Council​ ​are​ ​delegated​ ​the​ ​responsibility​ ​for​ ​maintaining​ ​and communicating​ ​up-to-date​ ​administrative​ ​procedures​ ​to​ ​applicable​ ​district​ ​employees. 3. New​ ​or​ ​revised​ ​administrative​ ​procedures​ ​shall​ ​be​ ​considered​ ​by​ ​Administration​ ​Council and,​ ​where​ ​agreed​ ​by​ ​Administration​ ​Council,​ ​recommended​ ​to​ ​the​ ​chief​ ​superintendent​ ​for adoption. 3.1 3.2

The​ ​date​ ​of​ ​approval​ ​for​ ​adoption​ ​shall​ ​be​ ​recorded​ ​on​ ​the​ ​administrative​ ​procedure as​ ​the​ ​date​ ​approved​ ​by​ ​the​ ​chief​ ​superintendent. Final​ ​decisions​ ​regarding​ ​administrative​ ​procedure​ ​approval​ ​reside​ ​with​ ​the​ ​chief superintendent.

4. The​ ​accountable​ ​member​ ​of​ ​Administration​ ​Council​ ​shall​ ​ensure​ ​that​ ​the​ ​district administrative​ ​procedures​ ​in​ ​their​ ​authority,​ ​comply​ ​with​ ​relevant​ ​legislation​ ​and​ ​Board policies. 5. Administrative​ ​procedures​ ​will​ ​be​ ​reviewed​ ​on​ ​an​ ​ongoing​ ​basis​ ​or​ ​in​ ​a​ ​scheduled​ ​three-year rotation. 6. Superintendents,​ ​department​ ​heads,​ ​supervisors​ ​and​ ​principals​ ​are​ ​responsible​ ​to​ ​ensure their​ ​staff​ ​are​ ​aware​ ​of​ ​the​ ​existence​ ​and​ ​location​ ​of​ ​district​ ​administrative​ ​procedures.​ ​Each employee​ ​is​ ​responsible​ ​to​ ​ensure​ ​they​ ​are​ ​aware​ ​of​ ​and​ ​comply​ ​with​ ​district​ ​administrative procedures.
