AET Comic Relief Challenge Friday, 13th March 2015 organised by the Year 12 Enterprise students We were introduced to the AET enterprise challenge during our enterprise class. In a small group, we brainstormed a number of ideas of things we could to raise money for comic relief. We decided that we wanted to do a number of activities that would cater for all students in Bexleyheath Academy. We felt that just having non uniform day wasn't enough, we wanted people to actually get involved physically – this would make them feel as though they played a part in helping raise money for comic relief. We had activities such as face painting, beat the voice, cross bar challenge, cake sales and pie a teacher in the face occurring all day. Some of the activities such as Cake sales, started from Monday 9th March as we know a number of people love eating! This was highly successful because not only did we sell a high quantity of cakes, we used the opportunity to promote other events that would be occurring later on in the week. We also attended all of the year group assemblies to promote our Comic Relief events. All of the events were photographed and videoed and we created a presentation of how we raised money for this cause which we submitted to the AET challenge. We found organizing this event challenging but very rewarding as were raised a substantial amount of money for a great cause. Wunmi Bello, Year 12 Enterprise student I would like to thank the Year 12 Enterprise students for being events co-ordinators for the week 9-13th March 2015. They did everything over and above my expectation to raise money for Comic Relief and did themselves and the school proud. The whole Comic Relief process has been photographed and videoed as part of the AET Comic Relief Challenge and I am currently waiting from the AET to see if the students have been successful in their submitted presentation. The final breakdown of money raised is as follows:Sweepstake - £20.78 Pie in the Face, Cross Bar & Sweepstake - £112.04 Cake Sale - £20.75 Cakes Sales & Noses - £62.27 Noses & Bracelets - £65.10 Pi Day - 28.20 Extra Cakes Sold - £23.91 Pens, Bracelets & Noses - £66.86 Money from T.Boswell - £182.78 Money collected from non-uniform - £359.85
