Brief Description: The SOCAN Mission is: Recognizing the urgent need for bold action against climate change, SOCAN’s mission is to promote awareness and understanding about the causes and consequences of climate change, to develop solutions, and to motivate concerned citizens to take individual and collective action. The SOCAN Goal is: We seek a reduction in the global atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration to 350 parts per million. The Climate in the Classroom Project Mission is: To promote student understanding and engagement with climate change science and issues facing the next generations, by working with educators and students K-college, using standards-based and engaging curriculum. To achieve this, we collaborate with individuals and organizations throughout the world and encourage both personal and governmental actions that reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
