ST. CHARLES NORTH HIGH SCHOOL COURSE SYLLABUS 2014-15 COURSE: Algebra II Honors COURSE CURRICULUM Algebra II Honors is the continued study of the algebra and geometry used in problem solving. Through in-depth explorations, this rigorous course focuses on the study of linear relationships and equations, functions and function transformations, and trigonometric, logarithmic, polynomial and rational functions. The discovery-based learning activities in this course include analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Units of Study: Linear Thinking, Introduction to Functions and Function Transformations, Trigonometric Functions, Exponential Functions, Logarithmic Functions, Polynomial Functions, Rational Functions, and introductory Statistics. Supplemental Text: Discovering Advanced Algebra (Murdock) Required supplies: Graphing calculator (TI-84 or TI-83 versions are recommended) Grading Scale: 90% – 100% A, 80% - 89% B, 70% - 79% C, 60% - 69% D, 59% or below F Grading Rules:
