Course Descriptions and Structure: (Explore / Embody / Essence / Evolve) SoTango's courses are designed to fully support and inspire you in the four stages of your tango journey.

Explore LEVEL 1: COMPLETE BEGINNERS An exploration of: • A few fundamental moves for social tango dancing • Posture • Navigation • Embrace and connection • Musicality • Footwork • Improvisation

Embody LEVEL 2: UPPER BEGINNERS Builds on the content and concepts of Level 1 adding more fundamental moves for social tango dancing. By the end of this course you are more in your body and less in your head when dancing tango.

Essence LEVEL 3: INTERMEDIATE Builds on content and concepts of preceding levels. By this stage you have a solid understanding of the skills, attitude and technique required for social tango dancing

Evolve LEVEL 4: INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED Develops creativity, unpredictability and artistry in your tango. End of Term Celebrations Our students rave about our end of term celebrations, which consist of: • 'Integrate - Initiate' workshops - Integrating all that you have learnt and initiating you to the codes and etiquette of social tango dancing. • Learner's Milonga - A fun tango dance party to practice all the moves you learnt! You get to dance with, support and connect with students from other venues. Progression On completion of SoTango's complete beginners series (Levels 1 & 2: 14 lessons) or equivalent, you can progress to Level 3. This is a series of 7- week courses. Each course is different and distinct from the other. Most students attend at least 3 to 4 Level 3 courses before being ready for Level 4, which is by invitation. 2

Your rate of progress will depend on the intensity of your training and practice between classes. Swapping Classes SoTango offers the same courses (same content) each week at North Sydney, Glebe* and Bondi so you can swap between these venues, as necessary, to complete your course. Assisting Classes At SoTango we really appreciate the value our assistants add to our classes. For this reason we encourage our higher-level students to attend lower level classes for FREE as an assistant. It's a win-win: not only do you help our beginner students to develop; you also expand and accelerate your own understanding of tango and skill development! Conditions apply for assisting: • Partner rotation is required. • Role reversal is encouraged and welcomed (but optional) - role reversal is excellent for skill development and helps to ensure classes are role balanced. • Priority is given to partnering with lower level students rather than other assistants. Free Lesson Videos SoTango 7-week courses include free lesson review videos and study notes for each new move / concept covered. Our students find these videos, provided as YouTube links (exclusive to SoTango very useful for practicing between lessons. As you have lifetime access to these links the videos enable you to review the content of past lessons, even after completing your training with SoTango.

Missed Classes Please make every effort to attend all your classes as each builds on the other. As we provide the opportunity to swap between venues, and video lesson reviews for all moves covered - missed lessons can only be credited towards private lessons. They cannot be credited towards courses. For private lessons - we can credit up to two missed lessons per private lesson. This is per prepaid set of lessons (i.e. 7 or 14 lessons) and based pro-rata on the amount paid for your course. • This credit cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts. • The maximum discount is $40 off the standard hourly rate of private coaching. • The lesson must be taken up until one week after the end of your prepaid group course/s. ............ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We currently have no credit card facility. Make sure to: • Use only your initial and surname as the transaction reference. • Include the Level, Venue and start date of your booked course • Email the receipt to Sophia at [email protected]. • Include in your email the venue, level and start date of the course. Cancellation Policy If 7 day's notice is given (prior to course commencement) your payment will be refunded minus $15 admin fee. If less than 7 day's notice is given, course fee is non-refundable but can be transferred to other courses or private lessons.
