IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WEEK B-O9
MATTHEW 28:16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
1. Understand It!
Worshiped
Glorify or adore God.
Doubted
Lack of certainty or confidence.
Make Disciples
To evangelize.
Commanded
To instruct.
2. Explore It! Jesus told the disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, meaning to spread the word of God and to baptize them in the name of the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He also told them to teach what He has taught them, and that they should not lose faith, for He is always with them.
3. Connect It! Have you ever did the Sign of the Cross in a public place and people ask why you do it? You answered them why and they still didn’t understand? It is ok. Be patient with them and explain the meaning behind the cross. It is the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Be respectful when they ask questions because they can come from different backgrounds and does not know much about God. When you share with others about your faith, it is one of the ways to make disciples of all nations.
Use the help of the Holy Spirit to find the way to the truth!
5. Remember It!
4. Live It!
[ PERSEVERANCE ]
Perseverance – continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties.
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit.”
Sometimes we find it difficult to do the Sign of the Cross in front of our friends or family members or we often forget to do so. This week, let us remember to make the Sign of the Cross very often. It is a way for you to make disciples by showing everyone how much you worship God. Whenever you make the Sign, make it slowly and reverently to give respect to the Trinity. If you make it hurriedly, it is a disrespect to God.
6. Pray It! Dear Lord, please help us remember that the Sign of the Cross is not just a sign, that there is a meaning behind it. It is in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Please help us be able to make disciples of all nations by showing them how much we adore You. Amen.
