Oke, mari kita kembali ke basic terlebih dahulu. Hal-hal paling mendasar dari persoalan pembuatan website. Ternyata masih banyak juga yang belum begitu paham perihal apa itu domain dan apa itu hosting[2].

Jadi, apa itu hosting? Kalau diibaratkan sebuah rumah atau bangunan, hosting itu seperti tanah tempat bangunan itu berdiri. Semakin luas tanahnya, maka akan semakin leluasa pula kita dalam membangun, mau dibentuk seperti apa ya terserah kita. Sedangkan bangunan rumah tersebut itu bisa diibaratkan seperti website kita. Mau dibentuk miring, lurus, memanjang, atau melebar, ya suka-suka kita. Namun bedanya jika di dalam bangunan itu kita bisa menempatkan berbagai macam perabot, almari, kasur, kulkas, meja, kursi, dan lain sebagainya, di website kita menempatkan berbagai macam file yang berbentuk teks, gambar, dan file aplikasi. Nah, lalu bagaimana caranya kita menggunakan hosting?

Cara menggunakan hosting adalah dengan menyewa hosting terlebih dahulu. Cara mendapatkannya juga mudah, cari saja provider atau penyedia hosting yang ada disekitar Anda. Atau, cari saja di internet.
