Create an Apple ID Tutorial This tutorial will explain how to create an Apple ID to use with your school iPad. To stay in compliance with Apple, we recommend that you use your school email address when creating this Apple ID. Download and install iTunes here: http://www.apple.com/itune s/download/ • Click the Download Now button • Follow the instructions to download and install the program

Launch iTunes from your computer. You can doubleclick the iTunes icon on your desktop.

Click Agree if you would like to share details about your library with Apple to see artist images, album covers, and other related information in your library. Click No Thanks if you choose not to share details.

Close the iTunes Tutorial window.

On the right hand side, click iTunes Store.

In the top right corner of the iTunes window you will see Search Store. Type iBooks app and press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Under the iPad Apps section, click the Free button below the iBooks app icon.

In the pop-up window, click Create Apple ID.

Click Continue.

You’ll need to read and agree to the iTunes Store Terms & Conditions. Select the checkbox next to I have read and agree to these terms and conditions. Click Agree.

Enter the following information: • Email address • Password (at least 8 characters, including a number, an uppercase letter, and a lowercase letter.) • Security Questions • Birthday • Optional rescue email address Once you are satisfied with the information entered, click Continue.

Select None as the payment type.

Fill out the required name and address fields with your information. • Title • First Name • Last Name • Address • City • State • Zip code • Phone Click Create Apple ID.

You’ll then see a Verify Your Apple ID screen. Click OK, and then check your email for a verification from iTunes.

Open the email, click Verify now to activate your account.

Once you click the link, the Apple ID website will ask you to sign in with your account name and password.

After signing in, you will see that your email address is associated with your Apple ID. A Return to the Store button will appear.

18.

Once you sign in, you’ll see the Congratulations screen. Click Start Shopping to return to the App Store.
