Application Guidelines for the University of Shimane Short-term Japanese Language & Culture Program 2018 Summer International Exchange Division The University of Shimane 1. Program Name: Japanese Language & Culture Program 2018 Summer 2. Program Period: July 2nd (Mon.), 2018 – July 20th (Fri.), 2018 * Check-in: June 30th (Sat.) / Check-out: July 22nd (Sun.)
3. Place: The University of Shimane, Hamada Campus, Shimane International Center, and the surrounding areas 4. Accommodations: 1)
June 30th– July 16th University of Shimane Guestroom(2433-2 Nobara-cho, Hamada-shi, Shimane)

5. Program Fee : ¥183,000 * Total Program Fee for the students from partner institutions:

Amount ¥88,000 *This fee will be waived for the students from partner institutions.
Cultural program fee, accommodation fee for 22 nights, ¥95,000 meals for 12 breakfasts, 15 lunches, and 6 dinners Participant’s Own Expenses: Travel expenses, travel insurance, food expenses (when meals are not provided), transportation, other personal expenses, etc. 6. Requirements: 1)
University students enrolled in a university outside of Japan

Students with intermediate Japanese ability equivalent to JLPT N3 or students whose J-CAT score is approximately 100-150 points. * Participants must submit J-CAT Score. * Students with advanced Japanese ability (N2 or above) can apply for winter 2019 program. (Winter program will be held from the end of January to the middle of February.)

Those who have never taken JLPT, please submit a J-CAT score only. Please see the attached instruction. (the photograph and number page) You can submit it on arrival.
June 18, 2018 Before the program begins
Note 1) A university official must submit №1~4 above. * Please submit only №4 if an applicant does not have №3. 2) We will inform you of the selection results after screening is made by the University of Shimane. 3) All the students who are admitted to participate must submit № 5 and 6 by the designated date and submit № 7 at the beginning of the program. 10.
