Teaching Suggestions: Read the different stories written by Laura Numeroff that are used in this activity (view pgs. 4&5 to see the books that are used in the chart). Discuss the different roles of authors and illustrators. In whole group, help your students read and sort each picture onto the correct section of the chart. In small group, have students cut, sort, and glue the pictures onto their own charts. I have given you the chart with the pictures sorted so that you can have an example. You can also use the blank Author And Illustrator Chart without the pictures….just write what your students say, or use different pictures that accompany what you are reading. --Happy Teaching!
