Autobiography Joshua Fizel is currently a High School Physical Education Instructor at Eau Claire North High School in the Eau Claire Area School District. Eau Claire North High School serves approximately 1,305 student daily and is located in WestCentral Wisconsin. Joshua has held this position for 2 years. Prior to serving in this role, Joshua was an Elementary Physical Education Teacher / Middle School Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in the Spooner Area School District from 2009-2013. Joshua has had many diverse experiences as a teacher and in leadership roles. His experience includes Educator Effectiveness building support, diverse experience in Response to Intervention, literacy leadership, PBIS, curriculum writing, designing and implementing professional staff development, budgeting, hiring, and many additional experiences which have increased achievement of staff and students. Joshua believes in the power and enjoys the opportunity to develop leadership in staff and students to help others be successful in their individual communities. Joshua believes in the positive impact that community building, creating strong community partnerships and developing an inclusive educational environment for all community stakeholders has on student learning and experience. His core belief is all students can reach excellence in school and life in the 21st century when provided with the necessary systems and supports. Every child, every day deserves the absolute best practice and opportunity to learn. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Joshua has served as a Head Football Coach for 5 years. He currently serves as the Head Football Coach for Eau Claire North High School. In 2 years at Eau Claire North, the participation in the football program has climbed from 78 participants the year prior to Joshua’s arrival, to 118 currently. He currently provides leadership for players and supervises a staff of 14 quality coaches. Joshua served as the Head Football Coach at Spooner High School from 2010-2012. In three years, his teams compiled a 19-11 record, with three consecutive W.I.A.A. playoff appearances. Joshua was named the Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week in 2011. Joshua has had the tremendous opportunity to serve as the Head Coach of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) North All- Star Team in 2014. This week-long experience resulted in coaching 46 of the best high school football players in Wisconsin and being part of fundraising efforts for the Wisconsin Children’s Hospital which resulted in over $400,000 raised. Joshua and his wife Kali, are proud parents of two children; Jaxson (6) and Jaelyn (2). They currently reside in Spooner, WI.
