Big Buddy Guidelines  You must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on visit days. Transportation will not be provided and you are not allowed to carpool with another high school student to and from buildings.  You will be expected to communicate with your Little Buddy’s teacher and your Big Buddy captain to schedule your visits in advance each month.

 You will have the opportunity to pick one block during either an A or B day of a

scheduled week to visit your buddy once per month. It is YOUR responsibility to inform your teacher of your absence and get all make up all work missed prior to the visit.

 If you must be absent on the day of a scheduled visit, it is your responsibility to call the building to which you were assigned and inform them that you will be gone. You may reschedule a visit for a later time and inform Mrs. Patton of the change.

 You must sign out at Student Services and sign in at the building to which you are

assigned. You must remain at the site for the entire block. When you leave you must sign out at the office and sign in at the high school in Student Services upon your return.

 You are expected to drive directly to and from the building to which you are assigned. Any unauthorized stops will be considered truancy.

 If you visit first block, you will still need to come to HS Student Services to say hello to Mrs. Tweryon for attendance purposes and sign out on the Big Buddy sign out form.

 You must abide by the school dress code at all times during a visit.  You must be compliant with the Extracurricular Activities Eligibility Requirements. If you become ineligible during the school year, you will be unable to visit your Little Buddy until your grades are compliant with the eligibility requirements.

 If at any point you are not following these guidelines, the high school handbook, or have abused your position in any way, you will lose the privilege of being a Big Buddy and may be disciplined for any misbehavior.

 Being a Big Buddy for a child in need is an honor and a privilege. Please show up on

time, every month and be a person that your Little Buddy can depend upon and look up to. You are a role model to an impressionable young person.

 If there is ever a time when you have made your visit and your Little Buddy is absent, you are to return to the high school and inform Mrs. Patton.

 If you have any concerns or questions while working with your Little Buddy, you are expected to immediately talk with Mrs. Patton, your Little Buddy’s teacher or any available staff about your concerns.
