What is this about? The State Board of Nursing will convene a Stakeholder Meeting to summarize and take comments on proposed changes to current Rule Chapters 5, 6, 14 and 15. The proposed changes to chapters 5 and 6 are technical updates to accommodate the newly implemented electronic testing method that begins in July 2017. Proposed changes to chapters 14 and 15 clarify requirements for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Prescriptive Authority applicants with experience working in other states. Why does the Board need my help? We need your help to identify how the revisions to the Nursing Rules affect consumer outcomes, positive or negative. The Board will use your feedback to draft rule revisions and additions for consideration during the formal rulemaking proceeding. Your opinions and recommendations will help shape any final revisions of the Board’s Rules. How do I submit my comments and what is the deadline? We will hold a two-part Stakeholder Meeting on Thursday, June 22, at 1560 Broadway, Room 1250C, Denver, CO, 80202. The Board will summarize and take comment on Rules 14 and 15 at 10:00 a.m. The Board will summarize and take comment on Rules 5 and 6 at 1:00 p.m. Stakeholder input will be limited to discussion of Rules 5, 6, 14, and 15. and their impact. Oral comments will be taken from participants who are present in-person or participating via webinar. If you cannot make the meeting in-person or wish to make written rather than oral
comments, you may email your written comments to
[email protected]. We must receive your written comments by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017 to include them in the official record. Will my comments become part of the official record for rulemaking? Yes, we will incorporate your comments into the official record when the Director commences with rulemaking. Staff will identify your comments as information received in anticipation of rulemaking to support the development of a proposed draft rule revision. Please note that you will have an additional opportunity to provide testimony and/or written comments regarding rules at the Rulemaking Hearing. May I invite others? YES!
