I will pay the correct fare or show a valid pass. I will be courteous to fellow passengers and to the driver and acknowledge that the driver is the adult in charge. I will not eat or drink on the bus. I will bin any litter. I will not smoke. I will respect other people, their property and the environment. I will not spray deodorant or aerosols on the bus, throw objects or engage in dangerous behaviour or actions that could bring the Academy into disrepute. I will behave calmly and safely. I will wear a seatbelt as required. I will follow the instructions of the bus monitor (a senior student who is the appointed person to be a link between the driver, the student-passengers and school duty staff). I will sit down where a seat is available (capacity is calculated on the basis of three students – fourteen or under – to a two-adult seat, according to current health and safety legislation). I understand that in the case of overcrowding, students will not be guaranteed transit. Students and parents should have a plan of what to do in this event. I understand that the buses leave the Academy at 3.25pm sharp and follow the published timetable, available from the Academy office on request. Any person not following this charter or acting in an unacceptable way, may be banned from the bus for a period of time and will have to make alternative transport arrangements. If behaviour does not improve, a permanent ban may be issued. This ban will also apply to any person not following this Travellers’ Charter. I understand that the buses are not operated by the Academy but by commercial bus companies who can alter or withdraw the services.
