NGRAIN  Locus  User  Manual   Application  summary   NGRAIN Locus is a 3D DICOM viewer, which uses the latest NGRAIN 3D voxel volume graphic rendering engine and ray tracing algorithm. It produces high degree of visual realism. The application is implemented with OpenCL technology that uses the full and true potential of CPUs and GPUs. User can study and interact DICOM model in 3D stereoscopic in real time with zSpace Med-Lab station hardware.

Import  DICOM

Convert  DICOM  slides   Select all DICOM files from window. Press “OK” and application starts convert 2D DICOM into 3D model. Tips: Hold “Ctrl” + mouse left click to select individual slides. Hold “Shift” + mouse left click to select slides in range. Press “Ctrl + A” to select all slides in current folder. Save  in  3D  file  format   It is recommended to save DICOM file after the application finish converting data into 3D. By using this save feature once, user can add annotations, notes, and bookmarks. Also, user can avoid 2D to 3D conversion computing time in loading. ** User does not require saving DICOM into 3D file format (.ngw) in order to review DICOM in 3D. Load  DICOM  3D  model  (.ngw  files)   This feature allows user to load any converted DICOM 3D model (.ngw) file. This 3D file format also store annotations, notes, bookmarks and initial screen setting. Load  Anatomy  model  (.3ko  files)   This application can load anatomy model in NGRAIN 3KO file format. All default anatomy models are preinstalled in the sample folder. Please contact sales support if there is any interest of loading other anatomy models.

Change  slides   Slides deck slide bar is under DICOM view panel. User can jump between slides by using slider or enter the number of slide from the text box on the right. Rotate,  pan  and  zoom   Press é, ê,ç and è direction key can move DICOM model accordingly. User may use mouse left click to rotate and right click to pan DICOM model. By scrolling mouse wheel, user can zoom in and out of DICOM model. Density  filter   There are 2 slide bars at the bottom of 2D DICOM panel. The top one controls the value of minimum density filter and the bottom controls the value of maximum density filter. Automatic  windows  level   This feature allows this application to automatically apply maximum black and white contrast to present DICOM data based on density level. The switch applies in both 3D and 2D mode. Be default, application shows with windows level on. Hotkey “<” and “>” to disable windows level feature as well as loop through other rendering modes.

Each bookmark has its title name and it automatically stores slide numbers, zoom level, rotation angle and any pan movement. Load bookmark - Restore slide numbers, zoom level, rotation angle and any panning movement. Edit bookmark - Change bookmark's title name. Measure   User can measure 2 locations distance in 2 ways. For quick measurement, user moves cursor on any spot of the DICOM model and press right click mouse button. Select “Measure from here” option. Then move curser to the finishing measuring spot and select “Measure to here”. The result displays on the right column of the screen. Copyright © 2014. All rights reserved.
