Thank you for doing business in the City of Ojai Note: “Employee” means any individual, owner (expect for a true sole-proprietor), agent or full-time equivalent (if one (1) or more part-time employees are engaged to work) employee who is at the firm or business on the date that the business license certificate is issued or renewed. (Ord. Sec. 6-1.205). “Gross Receipts” means the entire gross receipts of the business for calendar year 2014 that are directly attributable to the business activities conducted within the City of Ojai. (Ord. Sec 6-1.205). SB 1186 (Steinberg) is a State’s disability access law was signed on September 19, 2012 by the Governor Brown. On and after January 1, 2013 and until December 31, 2018, it requires cities and counties to collect an additional $1 fee from any new applicant or renewal for a local business license or equivalent instrument or permit. The purpose of this fee is to increase disability access and compliance with constructionrelated accessibility requirements and to develop educational resources for businesses in order to facilitate compliance with federal and state disability laws.
