Bulletin and sign up in the Counseling Center for informational meetings from a wide range of universities, colleges and vocational schools.
COLLEGE WEIGHTED GRADE POINT AVERAGE: This begins in the 10th grade and is based on your A-G requirements. When applying to universities and colleges, each university completes their own calculations, so do well throughout all four years of high school. The GPAs listed on your transcripts are estimates.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: 30 hours of community service are required for graduation. However, if you are interested in attending a competitive four year university, you will need many, many more hours (100+). Start working on those hours now. Do not procrastinate! For more information on volunteer, opportunities visit www.volunteermatch.org.
COMPACT FOR SUCCESS: For guaranteed admission to SDSU, you must meet all of the requirements: continuous enrollment in the district from grades 9-12, maintain a 3.0 or higher CSU GPA, satisfy the ELM/EPT, take the SAT/ACT, and complete all the “a-g” courses with a “C” or higher.
CREDIT RECOVERY: If you received a “D” or “F” grade in an academic course at the semester, see your counselor to discuss the carious credit recovery options which include APEX online learning, credit recovery or summer school. 1) If you failed an academic class, you need to repeat the class for graduation 2) If you received a “D” and are interested in attending a four-year university, you need to repeat the class. “D” grades are not accepted at a four-year university.
PE FITNESSGRAM: Students who are in PE Course I need to pass the Fitness Gram this year. If you do not pass it, you will be required to take PE Fitness for Life in the 10th grade and take the Fitness Gram again.
