2016 Scholarship Requirements

The Sacramento Valley Chapter of California Women for Agriculture is pleased to support local students in their educational endeavors in an agriculture-related career by offering two (2) $500 scholarships. This scholarship is intended to provide the student recipient with financial assistance to be applied toward tuition, books and or materials. Funds will be disbursed directly to the student recipient upon proof of registration for classes as a full-time student (12 or more units) for the fall 2016 semester or quarter. Recipients are not required to be pursuing an agricultural major, but must explain and confirm their intention to pursue a career directly related to the agriculture industry

To be eligible for the $500 Sacramento Valley CWA Scholarship:  Applicants must be from the following counties: o Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.  Applicant must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5  Applicant must complete the scholarship application in its entirety  Applicant must provide a current transcript of grades  Statement of Educational Purpose: o Applicant must submit a 1-page essay about yourself telling us why you are a deserving candidate for this scholarship. Please tell us about your background, you’re current achievements, and your education dreams and goals. o Applicant must provide a list of extra-curricular school activities, community service, church participation, and other accomplishments you would like to share with us. Include any awards you have received. o Applicant must provide at least (1) one letter of recommendation or support letter from a non-family member.  High school seniors and undergraduate students are eligible to apply.  Past recipients are eligible to re-apply.

Scholarship application deadline is June 30th, 2016. Submissions will be accepted electronically or by U.S. Mail.
