The College Language Association Announces its 1st
First-Time Attendee Membership and Registration Fee Waivers DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 30, 2015 The College Language Association (CLA) offers a fee waivers for membership and registration to its First-Time Attendees. The membership and registration fee waivers are available for current faculty members and graduate students Graduate Students (Regular Members): Up to 2 graduate students, attending CLA Convention for first time, will benefit from the fee waivers in order to help defer expenses to attend the CLA Convention. Fee Waivers recipients will represent various local and international geographic regions Faculty (Regular Members): Up to 2 faculty, attending CLA Convention for first time, will benefit from the fee waivers in order to help defer expenses to attend the CLA Convention. Fee Waivers recipients will represent various local and international geographic regions Eligibility 1. Submit an application form for CLA’s membership at the time of the Convention year 2. Be a Prospective First-time Attendee at the time of application for CLA’s membership Application All materials must be submitted, via e-mail with attachments, to Dr. Donna Akiba Harper, English Language Representative, at

[email protected]. and Dr. Clément Animan Akassi, Vice President and Program Chair, at
[email protected] Submit one copy of each of the following items: 1 An Acceptance Letter of Abstract Submission 2. A fulfilled CLA’s Membership Application Form 3. A brief Bio (CV): No more than 1 page Responsibilities of Winners As responsibilities, recipients must: 1. Attend the CLA Convention
2. Attend the Annual Convention Banquet to be recognized Committee of Selection The Committee of Selection will: 1. Include the English Area Representative, The Foreign Language Area Representative, and the Convention Program Chair (a.k.a. Chair of Selection Committee) 2. Review Applications every year, and recommend the names of the grantees to CLA’s Executive Board for final decisions Deadlines The applicants and the Committee of Selection should meet the following deadlines: 1. The applicant must be a CLA member, by October 31, and show evidence of acceptance of paper 2. The applicant must submit the required application materials for the membership and registration fee waivers, by November 30 3. The Committee of Selection will disclose the name of the recipients by January 31
