Cape Fear Pioneers Application For Scouts 14 and older. This will be a week of living experiences like no other. Spend the week along the banks of the Cape Fear River with the smell of wood smoke hanging in the air, and a challenging adventure around every turn. Scouts and Venturers who spend the week along the Cape Fear River will live like the frontiersmen of the mid 1800’s. With coyote’s howling, fires a roaring, and dutch ovens full of cobbler, everyone will experience the true flavor of backwoods living. Look forward to knife and tomahawk throwing, metal working, knife making, pioneering, and as a grand finale, making and sailing a raft down the Cape Fear River, just like ol’ Huck Finn.
