SHOOTING AREA The shooting area will extend between the red firing line and the yellow waiting line, only coaches, parents assisting a youth and range officers are allowed in the shooting area during the course of fire EQUIPMENT Sling, not allowed Palm Rest, not allowed Spotting Scope or Binoculars, allowed Shooting Glove, not allowed Shooting Jacket, Pants or Boots, not allowed Shooting Mat, allowed in prone position Kneeling Roll, not allowed Clear Chamber Indicator, required Eye and Ear protection, required Sand Bag or Rest, not allowed Shooting/Ammo Stand, allowed (used for reloading, not as a rest while shooting) Butt Hooks, not allowed Any equipment not on this list should be ruled during check in time. ALIBIS No alibis will be given AMMUNITION Any solid round nose .22 LR ammunition with a velocity of less than 1,350 FPS, no hollow points
FIREARM CLASS Iron Sight Any stock rifle chambered in .22 LR, weighing no more than 8 pounds with at least a 16 inch factory barrel, 2 pound or greater factory trigger and iron sights, aperture sights are allowed, no pistol grip or thumbhole stock Optic Sight Any stock rifle chambered in .22 LR, weighing no more than 8 pounds with at least a 16 inch factory barrel, 2 pound or greater factory trigger and scope or red dot, lasers are not allowed, no pistol grip or thumbhole stock Open Class Any rifle chambered in .22 LR, no weight restriction, no trigger restriction, no barrel restriction, iron sights or optics, no lasers, no restriction on grip or stock SCORING Scoring will be done according to the numbers on the target face. A shot on a line must completely sever the line in order for the shooter to be awarded the next highest score. The X is considered a numerical 10 and will be used for tie breaking purposes. In the event of a tie with Xs, ties will be broken by the next highest numbers in descending order until a winner is verified. YOUNG SHOOTERS Special consideration must be taken for shooters, especially those 8-11. Depending on their age and skill level a parent or assigned adult must accompany them on the firing line during their course of fire. Said adult cannot at any time touch the equipment or firearm except for safety issues or an equipment malfunction. All youth shooting this match should be prepped prior to attending and exhibit proficiency in the safety, handling, loading, unloading and firing of their firearm
ATTIRE Closed toe shoes and a shirt with sleeves are required RANGE COMMANDS “Prep Time Begins” Shooter will have two minutes to ready equipment and firearm. Magazines may be loaded at this time but not inserted into the firearm. There will be an exception to loading if the firearm utilizes an internal type magazine, such as a tubular magazine. No firearm should be charged or loaded at this time. “Prep Time Has Expired” If more time is needed shooter must raise their hand “Shooters Make Ready” Shooters may insert magazine, chamber a round and ready the firearm “Ready On The Right, Ready On The Left, Ready On The Firing Line” This is the last opportunity for a shooter to raise their hand if time is needed before firing. “Fire” Shooters may begin firing until they complete their course of fire or the time expires at which time they will make their firearm safe, insert the clear chamber indicator, ground them and step to the rear of the shooting area. If at any time during the course of fire a shooter has a malfunction or issue and requires assistance they should raise their hand. “Firing Line Is Clear” No shooter will be on the firing line, all firearms will be grounded and safe. Scoring down range can now be done. Non scoring persons are allowed down range at this time but are not allowed to touch a target face until it has been scored. “Cease Fire” Any time this command is heard, all firing should stop immediately. If anyone hears a cease fire command they should repeat the command until all firing has stopped and all firearms are grounded and made safe.
SCORING CHALLENGES The challenging of scores will be allowed prior to awards being given out. There will be a fee of $1 per challenge. If the shooter wins the challenge, that fee is refundable. The final ruling on a score challenge will be made by a panel of at least 3 scorers. SWEETHEART SHOOTER There will be a special award for the two shooters with the highest combined total score. In order to be eligible for this award those shooters much reciprocate each other’s names in the “Sweetheart Shooter Name” box during registration. This can be added to the registration forms during check in prior to the match as well. Any age, rifle and class combination is acceptable.
