CHERRY HILL DETOX A new Program operated by Horizon Services, Inc. On behalf of Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services Cherry Hill Detoxification Program is a 3-day (72hours) to 5-day (120 hours) 32 bed, co-ed Free Standing Monitored Residential Detoxification Unit. Specifically designed for participants assessed as not requiring medication for the management of withdrawal. The design encompasses participants needing a level of service requiring supervision and a supportive structure characterized by an emphasis on peer and social support. An empathic engagement approach will be utilized upon first conversation with potential participants. Cherry Hill Detox has three Primary Goals: • • •

Embrace a welcoming approach to enhance the screening of participants into the program. A welcoming and supportive atmosphere creating a non-threatening peaceful environment for participants to be safe, nourished and healthy during their withdrawal period. A streamline referral support system for participants to enter their individually assessed next step in the continuum of care.

Cherry Hill Detox will provide an environment conducive to enhance a healthy, supportive, safe facility for participants to undergo withdrawal from the effects of alcohol and drug use, abuse and addiction. Skilled, Trained and Knowledgeable Detox Assistants shall staff the unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Individualized participant assessment for ongoing services Transportation of participants to medical, psychiatric, treatment screenings, housing, interviews etc. Healthy meals, liquids and snacks available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Telephone and Internet access. Resources available for referrals to ancillary services. Participant referral to ongoing treatment, and or any ancillary service needed.

Cherry Hill Detox staff will observe, monitor, support and engage with each participant to insure a safe, healthy and successful withdrawal from the effects of alcohol and drug use, abuse and addiction. Motivational engagement techniques will continue throughout all participant episodes at Cherry Hill to enhance and motivate healthy change in each person based on individual needs through assessment.
