Explain the meaning of the term 'health' with reference to the various dimensions of health. Explain the meaning of the terms 'nutrition' and 'malnutrition'. Describe the functions of :

Explain the concept of 'recommended dietary allowances' giving examples.

Explain the concept of 'food groups' giving examples.

Explain how 'food groups' can help in planning balanced meals. Give an example of balanced meal based on food groups to clarify your answer. State the advantages of preparing a weekly menu.

(a) What is meant by 'multimix' and 'basic mix' ? 4+4 Give an example of each and state the nutrients provided by each ingredient in the basic mix and multi - mix. Discuss the psychological and emotional aspects of infant feeding that a child - care worker should bear in mind.

Explain the meaning of the term 'growth 2+5 monitoring'. Describe any one method of monitoring the growth of infants.

(a) State four nutrients whose requirements 2+2 increase during : toddler hood and. preschool years. (11) Plan a balanced lunch menu for a preschool child indicating the amount of each dish that you will give the child. State the nutrients provided by each food item in the lunch menu.

(c) Suggest 3 different nutritious snacks that

you can provide to a three year old child in the preschool centre at mid morning 11 a.m. State the nutrients provided by each snack. 21/2+21/2+3 5.

(b) State one nutrition and one health 4+4 programme each that is operative in the country, the beneficiaries covered under it and the services provided by it.
