Seller Check-In Kit for Children’s Market Check-In Supplies: ● Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags (to cover sorted and sized clothing piles like garment bags). Cheap, unscented ones are great for this purpose. ● Clean cardboard boxes or large shopping bags that you DO NOT want back. Plastic tubs and lids can be used if you have some from a previous sale. (Sources for used boxes: ABC store, Tractor Supply, grocery or dollar stores, Kitty Stone teachers after their classrooms are unpacked at the new school.) ● Box labels are available at the church office. A copy of each label is included in this packet for anyone who wants to print your own. Before your check-in appointment, make sure: ● All of your hanging items are sorted, tagged and hanging properly. ● All hangers must face to the left, like a question mark, when viewing front of item. Tags should be to the right of the garment if using safety pins or attached in a seam or to the garment’s label if using a tagging gun. ● Every item must have an attached tag with a barcode. If you need any additional tags printed at check-in, plan to stay and attach them to your items. ● All clothing items must be hanging, sorted by gender and size and grouped as instructed below: Rubber band each pile at the hanger hook & cover each set with a tall kitchen bag “garment bag”. Any sellers who have not presorted their hanging items by size and gender will be required to do so before placing items on clothing inspection tables. It is not necessary to box hanging items which have tall kitchen garment bags...they can neatly be laid in piles in your car and carried by hanger tops. Layette basics, like solid, plain onesies, gowns and sleepers, should be bagged and sorted separately from outfits. You can bag multiple sizes together for these items, but make sure they’re sorted within the stack. They will be delivered to Check-In Station 4 with Baby Gear. Attach Labels to Cardboard Boxes & Sort Non-Clothing Items before Check-In: Sort and box up everything that isn’t clothing or large items. Only items listed for each station will be sorted into a box or bag. These steps will allow you to get your items to the appropriate area as quickly as possible. Please use cardboard boxes to transport your items. Do not box any clothing. If you have plastic bins, MARK your name & seller number on them. Sellers will NOT get the exactly same cardboard boxes or bags returned to you, but tubs and lids will be store until pick-up and used to hold your sorted items.
What to Expect at Check-In: Sellers will unload your cars and bring items to the appropriate drop-off station. You can enter the church through either of the glass double-door entrances into the church. Everyone must stop at Station 6 in the lobby to check in before you leave. If you have large items, like baby gear, furniture or ride-on toys, you must bring them to Station 1 at the back of the church. Everything else can be brought into the lobby area or the McWhorter Activity Center. Once you’ve delivered your items to the correct area and checked in at Station 6, you are free to leave. Please allow 15 – 20 minutes for this process. Any rejected items will be returned to you at the end of the sale. If we are able, we’ll have them ready on Tuesday, but cannot guarantee that they’ll be ready. Station 1: Large Items (Outside the MAC in the back of the church.) Unloading Zone for any large items. (Baby gear, furniture, large toys, playhouses, ride-ons, etc. Be prepared to assemble any pack-and-plays or other items before you leave.) Station 2: Clothing (MAC lobby – Enter through either set of glass doors.) Bundle your hanging clothes by size. Tear a hole in the bottom of your garbage bag and drape it over the grouped clothing, pulling the hangers through the hole. This will keep your items sorted nice and neatly for transport and check-in. All clothing will be dropped off at Station 2. Do not box clothing. Station 3: All Shoes & Fashion Accessories Station 4: All Toys, Books & Games Station 5: Baby Gear Station 6: Mandatory Check-In Station & Home Décor/Electronics/High-Value Station (Mac lobby along the wall.) Every seller needs to check in at this station before leaving. If no one is manning it, double-check your mailing address on the clipboard at the podium and make any corrections.
